My PC patch list says I have the option to d/l 26H2. Going to wait as long as possible, being I see that it's causing 3 major problems.

Raining again. I'm upstairs on the OTVOC by my bedside. My prescription failed to arrive yesterday. Apparently, the stuff they want me to take is not in very abundant supply. I hope it isn't expensive. The Canadian "free healthcare" myth is highly over rated. At least it isn't freezing outside. I've been outdoors and active every day this week. That is, if one considers walking into the post office and back to the car "active". Even walking up the stairs is a chore these days. Not used to this at all.

We don't do the Christmas thing here either. I studied the origins of the custom and in good conscience I just can't bring myself to embrace it. Oh sure, I'm all for peace on earth and goodwill toward men, but I'm not big on having my traditions dictated to me via corporate money grubbers. Why not peace on earth 24/7? As for gifts, I've seen the best appreciation for them when they are received when least expected. I'm pretty big on BECAUSE YOU'RE YOU gifts. That always gets 'em. lol

Lest anyone get the wrong idea we don't do the Jewish or Muslim traditions either. Some might consider us pacifists. If that should be the case so be it. I can think of worse things to be. Being grateful for another year of life strikes me as a good thing. So yeah, we do the turkey thing.
Good Morning Scannerman :-) :coffee:
Sorry to hear your prescription didn't arrive yesterday. I hope you get it really soon and you will feel better with the new meds. :-)

Good morning all.

Happy Friday. It's a school day, always like the challenge.

That heart issue sounds pretty serious Scannerman. Hopefully the new meds help ( and that you get them soon.)

UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

Good morning Marie.

I though you'd welcome an extra hour or so of precious sleep - or did you have errands planned for today?
Afternoon :-)
both yes and no... yes, its always nice to get more sleep... no, i always get to bed later if i sleep in longer.. so i rather lose sleep and get to bed around the same time, then get an hour and then lose an hour as i get to bed later and then up again 1:30 :-)
So both Yes and No 😁

Nope.. no errands for at least 4-5-6 days So i might get energy to get something done at home.
I need to follow up(trace) and mark my cables. :cautious: its a lot of them. :cautious:

Sneaked downstairs into the basement which is the closest thing I have to a man-cave. The girls (not counting she-who-must-not-always-be-obeyed) rarely come down here anymore now that they've been spoiled with high performance laptops they can game on. Sadly, their better performing desk tops now lay dormant on abandoned desks. I have failed them. 😞

I'm typing this on the flip-side, LMDE7 needed some updates. I thought, "what a great way to start the day, liking everyone's posts just for the sake of giving everyone a wee dopamine hit to go with that coffee!" And why not? A positive geekazoid tradition to be sure. :coffee:

Taking advantage of the fact that she-who-need-not-ALWAYS-be-obeyed is sleeping in due to the girls having a day off for the long weekend, going down two flights of stairs is considerably easier than going up one. Upon reaching the main floor my ears detected that unmistakable high-pitched hum of a UPS alarm. I have no UPS on the main floor as my mains are all in the basement along with my 5 functional UPS units.

The X99 simply safely shut itself down as always. The SAGE X299 was a bit more stubborn (hence the alarm). The missus unit runs on a completely different circuit and happily dodged the incident altogether. I'm guessing it was a power surge that the Cyber Powers did not care for. Not uncommon in these parts even when the rains don't come with lightning.

I managed to get 26H2 running on the Tomahawk now. The thing blazes trails and runs circles around my X99 and X299 work stations. My guess is that 128GB DDR5 RAM running @6000 MHz will do that, but it's a gaming rig. My own gaming rig that I built for myself is now in pieces. I dismantled it because A) It needed a good cleaning B) I got a new case for it C) I never got around to rebuilding it D) I'm not much of a gamer E) All of the above. Meh. I'll get around to it one day.

Anyway, just wanted to say that Sweet Marie isn't the only one capable of chatting all day long. Greetings from the Linux side! :D

Chatting away is my "vacation" from my reality :-)
I wish i had the time for all fun you are doing. I would love to finish my projects... instead I'm forced to pack all my projects in boxes and hope it wont get damaged in the move as it is loose parts that haven't been fitted in chassis yet.
And all my cabling.. darn that is a nightmare.. and to mark it all and trace all cables and then make a big apartment schematics where everything goes and what wall sockets they go to.. what port on the switch they go to.. what cameras, what alarm sensors.. TV, Home cinema system.. darn its more electronics then a mid size business. *LOL* 🤣

Whenever I see your handle, Marie SWE, my brain automatically connects to Sweet Marie, which is/was a famous chocolate bar here, in Canada. Word association can be humorous at times. I've definitely been where you are. Running all my cabling kept me busy for weeks. My stubborn nature nearly capitulated to WiFi when I discovered that I needed to run my Ethernet up and down three floors. This is not a rushed project. There's only one way to do a project - do it right. You certainly have a job on your hands. But think of how much better it will be when you're all done. Just think of your apartment as a macro-chip. lol The great thing about it is that you get to design it!

Sweet as candy... I'm i that Bree?
I think I'm sweet as long people don’t rub me the wrong way.. Then i can become a bítch if the situation go to far. 😈
Yeah.. I have lived in the same apartment since late 90's.. almost 30 years of cable management that have grown over time..
So I'm going to take the opportunity to modernise it a bit. :-) I have ONLY thought about modernise it for about 10+ years. *LOL* 😅
I think i mention it a few years back to Bree in 10forums in that LOTPW thread. So in a way its good as i get forced to actually do it instead of just thinking about it. 😇
Yeah.. redesign things is fun and make it more modern.. Sadly i dont have the money to build my hidden-wall-server setup Instead of racks and shelf's i was thinking of building like a long wall of wardrobes that has the same color as the wall.
A construction like that is also easy to build a air-ventilation with dust filters, so you never-ever-again need to clean out computers from dust. :-)
But that is not free to build.
