When I booted my daily driver up this morning shortly after booting it auto updated to the latest AMD driver.

They have uploaded the wrong file. Last night the file I downloaded was named whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.10.2-win10-win11-oct-rdna3 and now it ends only with rdna.

The setup file currently on the release notes page for 25.10.2 is named:
whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.10.2-win10-win11-oct-rdna3-combined.exe

This is 1.56GB and has multiple INF files that appear to cover all supported Radeon GPU's.

Wow, I've downloaded it from my CPU section. AMD changed how they deliver the files.

It appears crap is hitting the fan with the AMD Radeon division. It appears they've stopped supporting RDNA 1 and 2 GPUs and put them in "Maintenance Mode." That is why many of us had issues with this latest release. 5000 and 6000 series are/were not supported. Several Content Creators are already posting update videos.

Techpowerup have posted a news article quoting AMD on where they're heading with Radeon GPU drivers/software development moving forward.

RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 graphics cards will continue to receive driver updates for critical security and bug fixes. To focus on optimizing and delivering new and improved technologies for the latest GPUs, AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 is placing Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000 series graphics cards (RDNA 1 and RDNA 2) into maintenance mode. Future driver updates with targeted game optimizations will focus on RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 GPUs.

AMD have 'clarified' their original statement I mentioned in post #509 above. :unsure:

However, AMD spokesperson has clarified for Tom's Hardware: "New features, bug fixes and game optimizations will continue to be delivered as required by market needs in the maintenance mode branch." AMD plans to shift focus on the upcoming Adrenalin Edition releases for performance enhancements and game-specific improvements. This will happen exclusively on RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 architectures.
