mmm I know this sounds stupid but you never know

Ensure you have the latest .Net 3.
  1. Go to Control Panel (Click Start and type ‘Control Panel’, then Enter)
  2. Go to Programs
  3. Select Turn Windows Features on or off
  4. Ensure .NET Framework 3.5 is checked and installed
  5. Ensure .NET Framework 4.8 is checked and installed
You did delete the "LogiOptionsPlus" folder in the Programs folder before a fresh offline install?

I found one Tip on the web to open Task Manager while Options+ is loaded, then End Task>Logitech Agent, but no such entry appears!
I think it may have something to do with my credentials, but, nothing will load for me to check! 🤷‍♂️

I just found this on a Reddit Forum maybe worth a go (Your not using a VPN while you are installing it)

I'm currently running WIN 11 and LOGI OPTIONS (the older version) was previously installed.

I preferred a fresh install, so my first steps (1 and 2) were related to old Logitech SW removal.

Follow this procedure and you will probably succeed, it's very easy:

STEP 1 -> UNINSTALL LOGI OPTIONS (if you don't have skip to step 3)

STEP 2 -> REBOOT THE PC

STEP 3 -> START LOGI OPTIONS+ INSTALLATION PROCESS (HERE YOU GET THE ANNOYING "Backend connection problem")

STEP 4 -> IN WINDOWS SYSTEM MENU, GO TO "DATE, TIME, REGIONAL FORMATTING" AND CHANGE "REGIONAL FORMAT" FROM YOUR ACTUAL CONFIGURATION TO ANY OF YOU CHOICE (I SWITCHED FROM ITALIAN TO US)

STEP 5 -> REBOOT THE PC AGAIN

STEP 6 -> LAUNCH LOGI OPTIONS + FROM THE DESKTOP ICON AND WAIT FOR THE INSTALLATION PROCESS TO COMPLETE.

STEP 7 -> SWITCH BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DATE/TIME ETC "REGIONAL FORMAT"

STEP 8 -> END, YOU ARE DONE

For some reason, switching the regional format triggers the installation process and let you complete the task.

The "Backend connection problem" it's obviously a bug: I hope Logitech will solve it ASAP

1.60 is as far as I can go, or it will just jump to and try to install 1.93!
1.44/1.60 is an archived download that works...

Weird thing is... there is something wrong with the 1.93 installer process against my OS version, (or sumthin like that), because, when I Revo'd version 1.60, for a clean install, there was a whack of reg entries and folders to delete..., when I Revo'd version 1.93, there was only 2 of each! 🤷‍♂️

Got the update today. And yes, finally, Options+ supports the Logitech Craft Keyboard. Options+ version 1.93.755984.

I think the AI Prompt Builder is interesting and potentially useful, but I wonder how it retrieves selected text or the last characters typed into various applications when there is no selection. I'm not aware random apps expose APIs for this, and programs like Notepad++ definitely aren't using standard Edit controls.

I have no use for anything AI. Getting very fatigued with having it pushed on me with fewer and fewer options to opt out.

Fair enough, but I'm really only asking about the potential security risks of having AI Prompt Builder (APB) active and have modified my post to reflect that. How is it getting text out of applications that have no API for that I'm aware of; it doesn't appear to involve the clipboard, the use of which doesn't necessarily give the results APB gets in the absence of a selection anyway. Keylogger is an obvious thing to come to mind, but like I said, APB is also retrieving the content of selections in programs like Notepad++. I don't know the mechanism for this.
