  • DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation Available Now
    • Update to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Select “Dynamic” mode to intelligently adjust the number of generated frames during gameplay to a target frame rate to balance frame rate, image quality and responsiveness.
    • New DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation 5X and 6X modes on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs increase 4K frame rates in path-traced titles. Paired with NVIDIA Reflex, they generate additional frames with minimal impact to responsiveness.
    • DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation model update on GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs enhances in-game user interfaces by incorporating additional engine data available for some games, improving visual quality and clarity of static user interface elements.

I tend to stick with studio drivers but that was also what borked my new systems sleep mode so now I tend to just stick with the manufacturer graphics drivers. I've noticed these NVIDIA drivers keep coming fast and furious but it seems like they keep bringing more and more issues with them. Just browsing this thread would seem to confirm that.

Don't know as I'm still on 573.24 from Dell on the new machine and 576.02 on an old machine.

Even on my other PCs, I'm noticing a few minor odd things with 580.88.

I have not had a single issue with 580.88 driver.
When I install a new driver I disable internet then boot into safe mode and run DDU.
Once back into windows with internet still disabled I then install just the driver then once that is done enable internet again.
I disable internet as I have found Win 11 will try to install a driver even if you have windows driver updates disabled.
This way no driver installs until I run the installer.

I have that problem with every version. I've found, letting screen sit 2 or 3 seconds longer before logging in to Microsoft, I can actually see the screen jump brighter. That wait time cures my problem. That's right before I log on to Microsoft. If I shut completely down, I don't have to wait the 2 or 3 seconds for auto bright to kick in.

By default - laptops use the iGPU (intel or AMD) - for handling the Display, and most can't be set to using the dedicated GPU (Nvidia) - unless it comes with a Mux switch (the option to use the Dedicated Nvidia GPU - limited to only couple of models). Laptops also come with extra power saving features - and even Nvidia has a feature which can switch to IGPU or Dedicated GPU based on power needs.

That's probably what's causing above issues (if not some of the power saving featured included with Windows). Try NVCleanstall with a stripped install - stripping away all features except the driver and USB-C and see if this issue persists. If so, try a clean install with DDU - and use NVCleanstall again installing the driver, USB-C + Optimus.

Open Issues in Version 580.97 WHQL

As with every released driver, version 580.97 WHQL of the Release 580 driver has open issues and enhancement requests associated with it. This section includes lists of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others may have workaround solutions.

Installed fine on 24H2 and 25H2 Builds.
Still a problem installing on Canary, the screen turns black and never returns to the normal desktop.
Had to install using RDC to avoid the problem. Same problem on 2 different machines.

It did that on my Beta machine, but the display finally popped back on just before I gave up on it and rebooted before a possible re-install. Thought maybe it was because I did a clean install for a change.

I have the problem only on Canary, 2 different machines.
Works fine on all the other Builds and also on the same machines that fail with Canary.

By default - laptops use the iGPU (intel or AMD) - for handling the Display, and most can't be set to using the dedicated GPU (Nvidia) - unless it comes with a Mux switch (the option to use the Dedicated Nvidia GPU - limited to only couple of models). Laptops also come with extra power saving features - and even Nvidia has a feature which can switch to IGPU or Dedicated GPU based on power needs.

That's probably what's causing above issues (if not some of the power saving featured included with Windows). Try NVCleanstall with a stripped install - stripping away all features except the driver and USB-C and see if this issue persists. If so, try a clean install with DDU - and use NVCleanstall again installing the driver, USB-C + Optimus.

  • Cyberpunk 2077: Failures are eliminated when using the "Photo" mode with the tracks on.
  • Marvel Rivals: fixes the productivity decline observed on the driver 580.88.
  • Forza Motorsport: The game is no longer started if the Smooth Motion function is enabled during the download of the NVIDIA application.
  • Battles in the Grey Zone: Increased overall stability of the game.
  • ARK: Survival Ascended: Solved stability problems.

General corrections​

  • The potential memory leak is eliminated when using NVENC hardware encoding.
  • When the monitor is reconnected, the screen flicker occurs, which occurs at the installed application NVIDIA.
  • Filtering problems in the NVIDIA application are fixed after the driver update.

Known problems​
