You have to disable that setting to update your card.

You can also use gpedit.msc (Group Policy Editor) Sorry, French but instructions English
Go to “Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Device Installation / Device Installation Restrictions.”

Then look for “Prevent installation of devices that match any of these devices IDs”

But will this block all installation, or just windows update? example if I try to install manual will I succeed?

Like I said, it will block all installations. You can't have your cake and eat it. You can also disable all Windows updates but then you can install your driver but that's the other end.

Using a group policy is simple because you can import it and export it
or suspend the task using filters

512.77 driver available at guru3d site if interested. It does not show up on the official NVIDIA d/l locations, probably later on today.

Interestingly, after the update, MS Edge covers the taskbar on all three monitors when maximized. I've not had a chance to restart my system due to backing up my main drive, but I will and see if the problem persists.

I'm actually having this not because of the nVidia driver update, which I Have not done yet, but whenever the system comes out of sleep - and it's not just Edge, it's all programs, as if the taskbar forgets to reserve the space allocated to it and all programs (Edge, Firefox, Discord, Teams, Word, Excel, KeePassXC, and tens of other apps) all extend from top to bottom of monitor, so that the bottom edge of the app is actually behind the taskbar.

I also use Translucent TB app, so I can actually see the apps behind the taskbar. Mostly not a problem, except for apps that have buttons at the bottom edge, which get covered by the taskbar.

It's fairly repeatable, for me, and I usually end up having to log out / reboot to get it fixed, nothing fixes it. As a temporary measure, if I need to finish something right now and is blocked by this behavior, I either take the app out of maximized mode, or else set the task bar to auto hide temporarily, until I can get to a stopping point and log out / reboot.

maybe your problem is Translucent TB, I don't use it but I use startallback, and the only program that appears under the taskbar in full screen is geforce experience.

Could very well be - but it is a recent development, and I've been using Translucent TB since October final release.

Who knows? If ther ewas a way to keep track of it and have an error output generated for this I could trace it - but the system thinks everything is entirely fine when it happens. Until I figure out a way to find any sort of related error messages, I can't really troubleshoot it.

The last few NVIDIA Geforce DCH drivers have caused the taskbar on my Windows 11 Insider Beta PC to turn opaque black. When the old driver is removed in the process of clean installing an updated driver, the taskbar reverts to its normal translucent green color until the new install is complete. Any known cure for it? The GPU is GTX 750 Ti.

just installed latest Nvidia driver, desktop gone into overdrive, thrown icons all over the place. some icons missing (spaces). This was after I rebooted, its was ok before. Fixed desktop, did reboot, now mouse gone. Did reboot, all seems ok.

I just updated too, via Geforce Experience using the Clean Install option. I'm not seeing the issue you are though.
