Latest NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers for Windows 11

Maybe just a rumor?

Nvidia is apparently looking to use the newer 3GB GDDR7 modules instead of the 2GB ones that it is currently utilizing on its RTX 5000 series cards. This means that there will be a 50% increase in the memory capacity of the GPUs, even if Nvidia sticks to the same memory interface width.

Thus, the RTX 5080 SUPER should have 24 GB of memory, while the RTX 5070 SUPER should have 18 GB of it. There is no word on any 5090 SUPER since the RTX 5090 itself seemingly uses the full GPU die. But a hypothetical 5090 SUPER would then have 48 GB of memory thanks to the 3GB modules.

Where the move to 3GB chips can really benefit is in the case of the RTX 5060 and lower. A hypothetical RTX 5060 SUPER, thanks to 3GB modules, will be able to pack 12 GB of memory, which will make it perfect as a 1080p card, as VRAM is typically the biggest limiting factor on current GeForce GPUs.

We will have to wait and see if Nvidia's SUPER series indeed happens and if it indeed goes with this route.

I've never understood it.

I have a 4090. If I maximize its settings, it draws 600W. (Default is the standard 450W.)

The cabling hasn't burned. so far. My connector is the original 12VHPWR one, not the new and improved version.

I asked this in my other thread.

My laptop is xps 15 9520 and has Intel iris xe graphics and Nvidia 3050.

I went and downloaded these below from Dell website and upgraded the 2 graphic card drivers. The screen then flashed several times during this.

It shows as installed. However, when I go to task manager, it shows

GPU 0 Nvidia 3050 Driver Version 32.015.6641 December 2024

GPU 1 Intel Iris Xe Graphics Driver Version 32.0101.6078 September 2024

Is there a reason why it did not update to the March 2025 release date of the Nvidia 3050 and the December 2024 release date of Intel Iris Xe Graphics?

I restarted laptop and when going to Dell website and entering my XPS 15 9520 and serial number, it shows my system is up to date. But why did it not download the later release date for both the Nvidia and Intel Iris Xe? When I went and opened Dell Command, it no longer showed any graphic card updates available. So does this mean this is the latest graphic cards drivers for my specific XPS 15 9520 then?

Maybe when installing it, mark “Clean install” or whatever.

Easy because you are using drivers released by the OEM being Dell which is supposedly tested by Dell and not Intel and Nvidia. The March 2025 and Nvidia 3050 are considered generic drivers that you would get direct from NVIDIA and Intel and won't be available from Dell until they release it after testing.

If you went to Dell, you will see the latest is this from Support for XPS 15 9520 | Drivers & Downloads | Dell US
so if you are updating from Dell, it will always be what they release as the latest in this case to fix a security issue, not what Intel and Nvidia releases as the latest since the later would require Dell to test it first which means it won't be released if they decide to release it until a lot later, months or years down the road. And if you looked at the Dell website, the version numbering is the same as what you reported which would have also been in the filename of the downloaded files.

So for this Nvidia and the Intel iris xe graphics driver updates that I downloaded from Dell site as I posted in the other thread, that is the most up to date drivers that I should use right according to Dell? So I could go to the Intel and Nvidia site and manually download the latest generic drivers of each but that isn't recommended right? The reason is because it might have issues with Dell so only download from Dell?

Yes, if you want support from Dell, you have to use their drivers or atleast use their drivers when contacting them for support.

You can use the generic drivers which are what is the latest released directly from Intel and Nvidia but neither of those will provide support when you have problems and will always tell you to use the latest Dell provided drivers and to contact Dell for support if you have problems so generic means you will use the latest but you might run into problems because it is not tested by Dell and you won't get support for it. I have a XPS 15 9570 and the latest Dell Drivers are still 27.xx and not the 31.xx/32.xx that is from Intel and Nvidia. As for problems, I have not had problems yet in the 6 years I have been using generic drivers on this machine but maybe the better way to say it is, you can get the generic drivers and if you have problems, hopefully it will be fixed by Nvidia/Intel in a future release but if the same problem exists with the Dell drivers, then Dell would have to provide you support if you still have problems with Dell drivers so basically it's similar to if you bought third party memory and install it yourself but if your system had problems, you need to put back Dell provided memory for the warranty to be valid. So in the case of OEM vs generic, generic is supposed to give the best performance while OEM is supposed to be more stable and compatible because it's been tested that way.
