  • DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation Available Now
    • Update to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Select “Dynamic” mode to intelligently adjust the number of generated frames during gameplay to a target frame rate to balance frame rate, image quality and responsiveness.
    • New DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation 5X and 6X modes on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs increase 4K frame rates in path-traced titles. Paired with NVIDIA Reflex, they generate additional frames with minimal impact to responsiveness.
    • DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation model update on GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs enhances in-game user interfaces by incorporating additional engine data available for some games, improving visual quality and clarity of static user interface elements.

That's unexpected. I hope that you didn't have to stretch your budget too far.

The latest game-ready drivers (576.40) are probably OK. I'm using them at the moment. They include fixes for some new games. (But I don't play.) The Studio version is still at 576.02. I think that both fixed the bug where some third-party software (like GPU-Z) didn't detect the GPU temperature correctly.

If memory serves, the 566.36 drivers were the last ones released before RTX 50X0 support. That may be why gamers recommend them for RTX 40X0 cards and older.

Any of those versions should be OK with a 4060.

I ordered the RX 5700 from Amazon and received it yesterday and returned it today. Installed it and the auto detect said RX 580? Checked device manager and it said RX 580. So I began checking things. The box doesn't say RX 5700 just stickers on it and, the card that say RX 5700. Also, the 5700 requires a 6 pin and an 8 pin power plug. This one just had one 8 pin like the 580 model. I got on the phone and told them I didn't appreciate that one bit! So they sent a QR Code to my phone and dropped it off at the UPS Store this morning. I was lucky and found the used 4060 card for a little more money. Suppose to get it in the morning.

The same.

The Studio drivers are supposed to be more stable for professional use (content creation), but I think that means they may lack some updates for games that might prove problematic. I've used both, and never saw a difference.

At least you didn't get one of those more professionally prepared scam cards that have a modified BIOS so it would report itself as a 5700XT.

I see prices for the RX580 at Newegg from less than $100 to over $600. I can't explain the latter.

A 580 is greatly inferior to a 5700XT.

If there's a straightforward way of having both present, I don't know it.

IMHO, it would be pointless. I believe that the differences between game-ready and studio drivers are tiny.

Movies will probably be fine with the processor embedded graphics, they don't really tax the video capabilities. You're not rendering anything with streaming video, so the embedded GPU is more than sufficient. I have a Nvidia RTX 4060, but I really got that for the 3D modeling I do, other than that, I probably could have stuck with the i5-14500 embedded GPU. Before I installed the RTX 4060, I was running two monitors with the embedded GPU, and I could see no issues in ordinary use. Both the 5120x1440 and the 1920x1080 monitors didn't have any display issues with the embedded GPU.

I have no use for a Video driver that is almost 1 GB in size. I am using 566.36 without any issues while gaming or streaming Videos.

So just a heads up, I got a new machine a couple weeks ago and made the mistake of upgrading the NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers which in turn borked the Modern Standby S0 sleep mode for my machine. Screen would no longer wake up after sleep and would then BSOD. After consulting with Dell tech support who suspected the graphics drivers I reverted back to the Dell factory drivers and the issue was resolved. I'm currently on NVIDIA 572.90 from the Dell support site for my RTX 5080.

Just thought I'd post if you have any strange issues especially sleep or hibernate issues (my hibernate is off along with fast startup) you may want to roll back to those outdated factory drivers.

WARNING - I've been using NVidia driver 566.36 for my RTX 2060 Super GPU which has been fine. Today I updated to version 576.52 which caused my PC to hang on switching from my user account to my admin account and then back to my user account. After rebooting a couple of times my desktop PC then failed to boot. I've just recovered from my Reflect backup made earlier today and all is OK. I won't be trying 576.52 again!
