Leak of upcoming features for Windows 11

There's an interesting personalization feature coming to Windows 11 - Stickers for your wallpaper.

You'll be able to configure them using a new Sticker Editor app, they'll persist across wallpaper changes as long as you don't use a slideshow, use Fill fit & have only 1 monitor.

System admins will be able to disable these using a policy called Education\AllowStickers. The single monitor and Fill fit limitations are quite strange, hopefully just an early implementation quirk.

A few more improvements coming to Windows 11 Leaf fluttering in wind
Sustainability: better energy consumption and device recycling awareness
• Focus Assist is becoming Focus, now schedulable through Outlook & sporting more granular options
• Notification priorities no longer tucked away in UI
In case you wonder what the leaf glyphs on top of the Sustainability page are for: They're supposed to indicate your device's "Eco Score"
Not yet functional in this build

Looks like tiny semblances of tablet mode may be coming back to Windows 11, a taskbar setting labeled "Automatically hide the taskbar when using your device as a tablet" is in the works.

The Settings app is slowly but surely gaining more hero controls, the newest addition can be found in the Time & language section. (Hidden in 22543)

How long will it take for a build to appear from the Fast to the Beta?
It seems like Fast is always getting updates, yet Beta might as well be Regular because the builds seem to be coming out at the same time.

And adults should be more concerned with performance and usability than round corners.

The fact that there's all the noise concerning Windows having round corners is quite frankly.... nonsense. I've yet to find round corners hinder any part of Windows 11 performance or useability. None!!!

I'm glad Microsoft spruced up 11's looks. And those arguing "looks" is the only thing Windows 11 has are misguided. And I'm 63.
You just don't understand what we saying. It isn't so much the added fluff, it's the waste of time, money and effort that goes into stuff like that. Time, money and effort that would be better off used to make Windows 11 more useful. How many years has MS been trying to move everything from Control Panel? How many years have users asked for a tabbed File Explorer? Certain things now take extra mouse clicks to accomplice. The color theme only works on certain programs. As an example, when I'm using File Explorer not only do I not see the color I chose but sometimes I can't even see the icons on the top righthand side of it because it's all faded out. It's been that way for awhile now and I'm sure many others have the same problem. MS needs to put more effort into adding useful features and fixing known bugs.

All good points, and I couldn't agree more. In the meantime, they're trying to zero in on a market that also likes the aesthetic look. If an entire generation or two switches to Macs because the OS is prettier, Microsoft won't have to worry about finding bugs and making actual improvements to the product because people will all be on Macs. Microsoft will only have a tiny buyer base. Now, I realize that's an extreme situation, but it's not implausible.

Great. Now I want either a Big Mac or Kobe Strip steak.
And yet, all I have is either vegan country-fried chicken or a peanut butter sandwich. :(

While I get some of the concerns, I also feel some are just using "round corners" as another way to bash an OS they don't like or understand.

For me, I tend to focus on the things that matter - better security, improved performance, than opine about Microsoft adding "round corners" to apps and settings. Perhaps I understand Microsoft is also trying the make the OS look better. No harm there.

Lastly, anyone thinking Windows 11 should be perfect for every person on the planet, is really living in fantasy land as no OS has ever been perfect for every user in all cases. That's an impossible ask since we all have preferences.

I never said I didn't like Windows 11.
I was speaking in general :)

What I'm saying is that there are more important things MS should be concentrating on.
My point is I don't see what's so wrong with doing both? It's not like the aesthetics team is working on security.

And if not "round corners" it'd be something else... every new OS coming in had its heavy dose of detractors before settling in.

But yes, I agree 11 isn't perfect. I like most here hate the new Taskbar

UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

I wonder if this would work with TranslucentTB. Only one way to find out!
I'm not sure, it's the only 3rd-party add-on I use. From its Read Me I can't see any reason why not...

It didn't work, though it was running in my systray. It didn't break anything, though. I quit TranslucentTB and it still didn't work. Not sure if I'm doing something incorrectly. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe a restart is required after you quit TrancelucentTB?
I'll give it a shot later. I'm currently working on grading for the courses I teach and waiting for an early morning meeting. Thanks for the resource!
