I'm currently testing out Hasleo and Aconis (slimmed down Western Digital only version since both of my NVME drives are WD).

So far, the Hasleo makes smaller archives and it doesn't have an app running in the background.

What if I wanted to restore a previous and latest backup of one (much smaller) 500GB disk with Windows 11 Insider beta build to a much larger (2TB), single partition disk which already has a lot of data on it and don't want to lose or back data up which would take long time and plenty of work, Is it possible with any of those programs and if possible how? Did anybody do something like that? I have MR 8 and Hasleo installed. That disk will have to be bootable of course.

Ever since upgrade to 25H2 my MR 8,1 with latest update begun to suddenly restart PC if there's any other program (even just internet browser running. Except in reliability monitor where it just shows that windows were shut down improperly, there's nothing else I could find related to this problem.
Otherwise PC is very stable in all tests and nothing else caused restarts.

Sure this is easy with MR8 using drag and drop but you need to shrink the existing partition from disk management to create enough allocated space for the data on old drive.

I recommend you shrink existing partition by 500 GB (same size as old drive).

Fire up mr8, select all partitions on old drive, and select clone.

Then select new drive and drag and drop all partitions to new drive.

I made backup of one directory (large with many subs and files) a while ago and now an incremental. Would like to merge them but can't find how. I is possible at all ?

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.
