Have you tried wiping target drive completely using diskpart clean command?

Also, have you tried image backup and restore.

Being unfamiliar with Diskpart, I opted to take an image & restore - which worked OK.

Well, I use Macrium Reflect 7 free, but it should be similar. I noticed that by default it tries to check the source file system while cloning and verify the clone. This is OK for a healthy drive, but when cloning a disk with low health it fails at the first error. Unlike Acronis it doesn't let you ignore errors and proceed, very annoying. Fortunately you can go to the advanced settings and disable checking the source file system and verifying the clone. The it should complete the clone ignoring any errors.

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.
