....will always return the release notes for whatever is the current latest release. At present that still shows the notes for v8.0.6584. Also, v8.0.6621 is not found (yet) if you check for updates in Reflect. For whatever reason (final testing?) Paramount seem to be holding back on releasing it.

An official statement from Macrium.

This build isn't yet publicly released and the suggestion that it is released is caused by bots. So don't worry, when it's available you'll get an update notification,

There is never a valid reason to install a version sourced by a 3rd party site assuming you always want to be up to date.

Some people are teading too much into announcement date. It is obvious that intent ws to issue build on 1st March, but not quite ready, so release note will get updated when version gets released.

) doubt that 3rd party sites like MG make own patches or "steal" them, they just store them as they get them from original developer or like MG also provide direct link. In order for faster availability it has to be done some time in advance for 3rd party distributors and I believe in this case somebody at MG missed a note to wait for eventual changes until official release.
As for Major Geeks, they are my major source of SW for many years and I trust them most.

There are official versions of all flavors of Macrium Reflect v8.0.6621 sitting on their servers, but for some reason, Macrium has decided to delay or even cancel the release of Reflect v8.0.6621.

FWIW, months ago, I tested an installation without reading a single page of the knowledge base and was not impressed with the user interface. I have now finished a first pass reading of the knowledge base (almost 500 pages!) and I must say I am mightily impressed > I will give it a second try

Hm. I'm still on 6584. I guess it will update later. No worries because there weren't any significant changes in the update for me.

I know one thing for sure. If I download Reflect from the official site, I can be 100% be sure it has not been tampered with (ok granted nobody can ever be 100% sure a hacker has not compromised official site).

I generally avoid downloading software directly from hosting sites if possible.

Even links to official sites can be cleverly faked.

I fullyvaccept MajorGeeks is a reputable site, but I still see no truly valid reason for downloading from them.

Some might consider this to be paranoid, but my view it is better to be safe than sorry.

Well if what reading on here is so then Macrium held it for some reason, that reason whatever it may be is good enough for me not to go scratching around the web looking for an update that may be b@!!@ck$

I agree about downloading from original developer but only if it's reputable in first place. (Like MR for instance) but there were instances were original files were tainted (AVG, Ccleaner, uTorrent etc) but caught by QC at MG.
For me it's handy to have a site like MG to check for programs either new or updates as well as drivers with such a large base or would have to relay on developers auto update (MR is also good there) but Firefox for instance takes up to few days to even offer an update/upgrade.

Sure thing. I am not saying such sites are not useful but one should apply (oxymoronic) common sense.

They did release it last week - I have kept a copy of the update patch which was downloaded after checking for updates from MR installation itself

Downloaded > Installed > immediately got the offer to update > this is what I got
