Macrium Reflect v10


If the annual plans are quite reasonable, I'm all for them. I use office 365 and for the price, I get 6 users with unlimited office and each of 6 users gets 1TB of OneDrive space, and it's $99 a year, and I get a work discount making it $69 a year. For that price, it's a no-brainer for me.

But Macrium at like $50 per computer per year. Yeah, nope not going to pay $200 a year for those 4 computers. Images are nice, but I'm fine keeping my data in my cloud accounts and on my PC. That's good enough

If Macrium X was $49.99 for all of my home computers per year, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. but not per PC.

Good news is version 8 works fine, and will continue to work fine for a number of years I think. So, I don't have to do anything. I don't need support or their forums.

That's what I did. By accident I got my timing right. I bought version 8.1 only 5-days ago on 15th September. Just lucky I guess.

What about many like me that have no way of paying directly ? Even this one was payed by a friend in USA. Can't bother him every year.

Yeah at this point hopefully 8.1 Remains working for a long long time. Not too sure on affording 2 $105.99 a year subscriptions (My Luck the Subscrption to Macrium if i was to subscribe to X would also have Sales Tax Charge as well) i do like my Office 365 with 1TB One Drive, so definitely keeping that current

Unless i can manage to purchase an Annual Plan to Macrium Reflect in Early October before October 8th, and convert that to 3 year Macrium X version.

Guess will just have to see how things go in the future.

I wonder if this may drive some users of a licenced version of V8 to wait for a hacked version of macrium 10 (if it is possible to do) and use that.
It will be interesting to see how well V10 sells.

As a long time owner of a 4-pack of Reflect 8 Home perpetual licences, it appears I may have a tough choice.

Continue using v8 forever (or until a new Windows breaks it).

Or upgrade to Reflect X at a discount, then pay no more for the next three years. For my 4-pack it's all or nothing, I won't be allowed to upgrade just one licence.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I'm chancing it and staying with 8.1. If a new Windows breaks it, then I'll bite the bullet. It's a gamble, but it's one I'm willing to take.

Oh, I'm taking that gamble as well. I have more PCs than Reflect licences, all the rest will be running Reflect Free v8.0 until MS breaks it.
(actually that's not quite true, one of them is still happily running Reflect Free v7.2 in Win11 23H2)

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

In the few years I've been using Reflect v8 (4 Pack Licence) I've found it very reliable and no need to contact Support. My only concern about not having Support is if the license key needs to be reset- if you don't remove the license for that device and need to eg do a clean install- if you are out of the Support period you can't raise a ticket to have the key reset which is something I've seen on the Support Forum.

This is a Chinese company. Not to say that's bad. It's just to say that it's a Chinese company. I'm sure I have many things made in China. But I do wonder at the security of it. Anyone know?

I knew someone would bring that up! My phone and my wife's phone are made in China as are almost all desktops and laptops. Apple iPhones are assembled in China. I think firmware is a bigger potential risk as malicious software can be trapped by anti-malware.

Yeah. I pay quite a bit for my subscription to The Times and the New York Times but they are offering new content every day.

I would pay a hundred bucks for a lifetime subscription for a good utility but I'll never pay fifty bucks a year. Especially as older versions often work as well even if they lack improvements and extra features.

No equivalent of Rapid Delta Restore or Macrium Image Guardian which are the two prime Reflect features of paid version over free version.

Diskgenius may be a good partition assistant but rather "meh" as an imaging tool.
