Mail app notification isn't working correctly.

Does anyone else not get email notifications using the Windows Mail App? The only time I get the notification is when the Mail app is opened. Defeats the purpose of a notification doesn't it? I had the same problem with Windows 10 at some point in time. Before that I would get a notification without the Mail app opened.

Everything is set up correctly as afaik.

Sorry it took me so long to see your thread. Try resetting the mail app by using option 2 in the following tutorial. Scroll down the list and find Mail and Calendar Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10

I've already try this multiple times without success. If you use MS Mail do you always get a notification with sound when the mail app isn't opened?

Sorry Streetwolf, I don't use the mail app. I never have liked the mail app in 10 or 11.

This has been complained about since early Win10 days. It seems to work correctly if you use a MS email account, but if you use a different email provider it doesn't. Do you use a MS email account?

I don't use the Mail and Calendar app as I use Outlook, but I do see notifications from it.
I remember on a computer in Windows 10 that there were problems with it. I went to Apps & Features and noticed that it was using a ridiculous amount of storage space. It was Gigabytes in size.

I remember clicking on the three dots and selecting Advanced Options.
In that section, there is Repair, Reset and Uninstall. I can't remember which one worked for me, but one did.
Have you tried all three of those options? If you have to resort to uninstalling it, you can easily install it again from the Microsoft Store.


It may do similar things to what glasskuter posted. I'm not sure.
