Make the active task more obvious in the taskbar

With the finally added feature to move the taskbar to the top,I move it to the top and switch to small icons
This makes the taskbar very small(I like it)but it's kinda hard to see the which is the active window in the taskbar
I just have a tinny line on the active tab

I was wondering(I have seen it before but I don't remember how to do it without installing anything extra)if i can somehow make the active window(task in the taskbar)be in a different color or have some border around it

If you absolutely need deep control over taskbar behavior and colors, native settings won't suffice. Windows power users often rely on UI customization utilities like Windhawk, Start11, or Winaero Tweaker to inject custom styles or modify taskbar states beyond Microsoft's default design constraints.

Any registry editing?

Maybe you can change how many time active flashing app color other than that there is no registry trick i know of.
