Media Player Launch in Full Screen

I know it’s possible with desktop programs such as VLC, Legacy WMP, etc. but I am looking for a way to make the new Media Player app launch in full screen when opening video files. I know Win+Shift+Enter, F11 and double click all put it in full screen but I would like it to just launch that way.

*Side question - does anyone know a way to enable a Stop button as well?

I don't use WMP, but have you tried opening WMP, setting it to full screen, then closing it that way.
Then open it again, and see if it opens in full screen from the start.

Most programs remember whether they were in full screen or windowed mode, and remember that setting, the next time they are opened.

For example, I use Foobar2000. I just set it to full screen then closed it... from full screen.
The next time I opened it, it opened in full screen.

For me... maximized IS full screen. I can't test with WMP, because I removed it long ago.

How can maximized be full screen? Maximized has a window board with the max/min/close buttons still visible. Full screen only shows the video and no window boarders.

Oh... I see what you mean.
Yeah... I don't like it when programs are "full screen". I "like" the max, min and close buttons.

I have found running windows as maximized causes problems when taskbar is hidden. Instead, size the windows of the apps you use most often manually using the double ended arrow on the edges. Drag the edges to your desired size. When closed explorer remembers the size.

No maximized works fine. I want it full screen at launch.

I don't think you can. When I open a video WMP opens in a window. I then double click the video to make it go full screen. When I want to stop watching the video, I do the reverse, I double click the video to make it go windowed and I click on the 'X'.

How do you close WMP without clicking on the 'X'?

This hurts my head...but only from an in-game POV. Most other things aren't fullscreen but they aren't supposed to be. Only time i absolutely need fullscreen is in a game to be honest, Normal elsewhere

Honestly, I wouldn't even want full screen in a game.
1. Alt + Tab is a pain, and doesn't work a lot of the time.
2. After a few seconds in a game... I don't "see" even a maximized window, anymore.

It's like wearing glasses and not seeing the frames. I guess my mind just edits out the "edges" of a maximized window.

Meh alt tab always usually works for me, You're right with some games dont like it, But most especially newer ones are fine. Plus if im playing a game...what else can i be doing at the same time lol, Plus i have multiple monitors so i can have one game full on one a browser on the other etc so maybe thats also why

I see your point. I mostly just "play the game" when I'm gaming.
But there are times (especially back when I was doing things like overclocking), that I would get an error message behind a game. Or my temps would get near the danger zone, etc. Then, I like to be able to minimize or even move the gaming window out of the way.

i get you man, I use on screen stats for stuff like that and can hide/show it with a hotkey etc. I do love OG methods though

I also use AIDA64 which I can "bring to the top". But there are/were times when something was going on, behind a game, that I needed to deal with, but didn't realize it was there.

I wear glasses. When you first put them on you see the frames. After a while, you no longer see them.
Sort of like movies played on the TV with improper scaling/resolutions, with black bars on the sides or top and bottom... after a while you no longer "see" them either.

When I play a game... maximized, I only see the window border for a few minutes... then it just gets edited out in my vision.
