Microsoft 3D Builder taking forever to perform a merge or subtract

I have Microsoft 3D Builder v 18.0.10793.0 from the Microsoft store installed on my Windows 11 PC. It usually works OK for a while, but eventually something changes and my subtracts and merges will take a very long time - I've been waiting for this last merge to complete for several hours. If I try to cancel the activity, it can take hours for the cancel to happen as well.

I would just close and reopen 3D Builder and reload the file, but this doesn't always resolve the issue. Also, doing this loses my "undo" buffer that I rely on occasionally during tests.

My guess is that 3D Builder is corrupting my object somehow and then can't process it properly.

My 3D objects are not too complex. This should not take a long time to process. Does anyone know how I could correct this issue?

I too have the same issue. My merges are taking forever to complete and my computer sounds like it goes into full throttle but appears to just be stalled and nothing happens. The object I'm building isn't too complex at all, here is my object.

I've seen it mentioned online that there is a bug in 3D Builder that can corrupt an object when doing a subtract.

Same here, Intel I9, 64Gb Win 11 pro Merges and subractions take forever. Merging the same files with FreeCad go in 40sec, in 3d builder over 3 hours.

I have no answer to the issue in question, but MS 3D Builder is a toy at best in its current state compared to anything else out there.

What I would do though, is provide MS with Bug feedback so they can correct this issue. And also maybe add suggestions for more features.
