Loading The Microsoft Store is becoming a joke. When it does finally load (maybe 20 minutes) I can never sign in. I get the attached message. The problem is complicated by the fact that Microsoft now has some important apps that you can only get through the store (such as "Quick Assist" that allows their support techs to see your screen. The the techs usually tell you to reinstall the OS...great help! This is beyond frustrating, it is totally irresponsible on their behalf. If anyone knows how to open their store please let me know. I've tried troubleshooting- resetting, repairing, re-registrating etc. Apparently Microsoft does not have enough storage space to acccommodate their customers. Hard to believe!

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper Standard

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.


The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.

I’ve done 2 in place reinstalls. Also am on Comcast Ethernet usually reading speeds near 1000mbs and 40mbs upload. Still the store is inaccessible…like I say, when I finally get to the sign in I get the message I attached!

Try the update to the Windows Store first. I had the same issue and that worked for me :)

Also check that windows update is working. Looks like a repair install isn't fixing it. lf reregistering it also doesn't work (I assumed you have tried it) then try uninstalling/reinstalling Microsoft Store using PowerShell.

A bit beyond my grade. But I went directly to the Microsoft Store Website instead of the app. Got right in and downloaded the clock (just to see if the site works) It then took me to the app which took its jolly time loading (10 minutes). Lo’ and Behold! The clock was installed! Then, of course, this was followed by the spinning wheel ‘please wait’ for another 10 minutes and then the ‘something went wrong’ message again. Whatever, at least something went right as the clock was already installed on my system. But why all this needless waiting and confusion? Only Microsoft knows for sure!
