Hi folks
What IS WRONG with Ms -- perfectly good working version of Phone Link to Windows where your phone screen is mirrored to the PC - replicates your phone screen to the PC and using the mouse you can run your phone apps etc. (Windows 26H2 build I'm on with Samsung S26 ultra phone).
After this app updated the thing tries to be clever and shows things it thinks you might want plus all sorts of rediculous extras -- all I wanted was the previous version which worked perfectly and just mirrored the phone to the PC screen etc.

Too much software just goes bonkers -- often the base version is far better than adding all "extra" features and assumed user preferences which can't be changed.

Seems a perfectly decent and useable app has just become pointless for some users.

Expanded view, show apps etc -- all I want is just "bog standard mirror to PC" which isn't working !!!!

It might be on other builds of Windows. Surely if you want "ex tras" etc they should be optional extras that the user can either use or not use at will. Keep the basic stuff working properly.

I don't know what expanded view means, but Android apps have been integrated for more than six years.

You didn't say in your first post that mirror to PC wasn't working.

@jimbo45 I have a simple S20 Galaxy. Mine doesn't show anything I don't want. Have you gone into the settings and disabled all you don't like or want?

I'm not sure what the OP is complaining about. Other than the occasional sync issue, which has become even less frequent, it works fine. I've used it since my S10 now S25. You can disable it entirely or feature by feature in settings.

Hi folks
All I want is to simply mirror phone screen and handle from laptop as on this 26H2 build and control /handle calls. Working here - but fails once update on 26H2 wants on Windows boot / start up a Ms sign in and wretched pin number -- that seems to break a few things

Running 26H2 again (physical machine) with local account it works properly.

Hey, At least yours works.

a couple of updates ago, mine broke and none of the messages being sent to me show. I can send, but do not receive them on screen. Tried everything.

Glad that Microsoft fixed your problems with that experimental build; I think the problem just migrated to 25H2. Phone Link was working fine and connected to my Samgsung 26 Ultra and now it no longer connects. Maybe the next Windows update will fix it.

I've spent about three hours trying every possible solution to get it to work again. It was working fine yesterday. This morning it won't sync. Eventually I did a reset and repair on the app in Windows.
Now the app is asking me change the email address during set up. If I reset the app It will allow me during setup to reselect the account I have been using,
it then stops on the continue page with the 'change email' flashing every time you hit continue. I've completely reset the app on phone, and set up there runs into the same issue giving me a 'something went wrong message'. It's been working fine for years.

I wonder if removing the phone app and getting a new one would work for you.

Working fine on 26H2 build even on a VM on Linux host under KVM/QEMU
currently installing latest release of 26H2 experimental via standard WU on a VM. !!

will see if it still works after update !!

I'm using a local account and W11pro for workstations. I think W11 Home has all sorts of problems when trying to use these sort of things !!!

Google messages etc are an irrelevance for this type of stuff BTW !!!!!

Mine still does not work either even after trying every possible fix. I have given up on it. Another app ruined by Nadulla and Microsoft. I have the web version of google messages installed on my pc's so I will just keep using that and deal.

Could be using W11 Home !!!

Using 26H2 W11 Pro for workstations when you open start (the windows icon on the task bar) you should see the the screen as shown with the phone link on the right hand side - just click it and phone is mirrored to screen etc correctly !!!.

I'm on a VM currently with Linux Host and it's 100% working.

I tried the 29.xxx build and it wouldn't work either as a VM or physical machine. latest 26H2 build works perfectly.
The 29.xx build just left a white blank phone screen and couldn't connect.

Like you, I have always been unable to get Phone Link to work properly on my computers. A couple of years ago I discovered MyPhoneExplorer (MPE). It is great and very reliable.

Last week, I ran into an issue with some messages appearing in MPE that were spam that MPE could not delete, and that I could not see on my phone. MPE Support, in fact "FJ" himself responded to my Support Request within hours, and with his help, the issue was resolved.

This is freeware, but of course, donations are always welcome. I donated when I first started using it, and again last week when my issue was so promptly resolved to compensate "FJ." If I like software, I put my money where my mouth is.

Just a suggestion for you. Please don't "resign yourself ... " without giving MPE a spin.

winver 25H2 insider (no noob) ver 26000.9267 phone link opens but cannot activate open home screen on pc. worked fine with al other updates except this one. No answer from MS. They are working on it "Phone Link stuck on "Use your mobile device from your PC" screen; continue button does nothing - Microsoft Q&A" No help of course. Samsung pushed a USB phone link app udate today but no joy. Still broken this side. anyone else have this problem as of the referenced udate with solution that works. I ran through most of the suggestions with no solution that works.
