Hi,

A colleague and I installed an update of New Outlook app through the Store but it seems broken.

See: New Outlook doesn't start anymore - Microsoft Q&A

The "accepted solution" suggests to remove some folders to redo the account setup but the issue comes back. The only solution for now is to use the regular Outlook application.

Kind regards

Odd, it never updated to that version as I am still on 1.2025.716.500.
For the reason you reported, MS may have stopped the rollout.

Hey,

I have found a temporary fix for this crap. I've spend more than a few hours digging around.
Event viewer kept flashing ID 1001 and 1000 with it pointing to UCRTBASE.DLL.

The fix mentioned in the Q&A refered to deleting the folders: C:\Users\<your username>\appdata\local\microsoft\OneAuth | and Olk. This works exactly ONCE. it starts, you can use it. the moment you close it, it just sh**s itself again.

The fix i found so far that actually works:
Download the offline installer for it from: Deployment overview for the new Outlook for Windows (gives me the version 1.20,25.806.300)

Other things i've tried but were unsuccessful:
- Scanning and repair windows problems (SFC /scannow) (dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth and restorehealth)
- Repairing and installing .net installations.
- Repairing and installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2013, 2015-2022 Redistributable from the control panel.
- Multiple reboots
- Deleting and reinstalling office multiple times over.

Seems like its a bug in this new verison: 1.2025.813.500

Thanks for sharing.

I think they pulled out the broken update because on my personal laptop Microsoft Store doesn't give me an update past 1.20.25.806.300

I'll try your solution on my work laptop if they don't provide an update tomorrow.
