There are 4 ways/versions to use Outlookat least that I know of.
You appear to be using the New Outlook that is replacing Mail/Calendar. I don’t know why, especially as you’re paying for Microsoft 365, you want to use rules etc, they are in Outlook witch comes with Microsoft 365

All you should need to do if you want rules and more control over Outlook, is look in your start menu for Microsoft Outlook (not new) add your email account and forget the “new Outlook”
Unless they’re also calling Outlook in the Microsoft 365 suite something else now. At this point, I have no idea anymore.

Thanks. I also think you're running the free version and not Microsoft 365 Outlook.
I use Microsoft 365 Outlook but switched New Outlook on a long time ago (but can switch back whenever I want, which I've done a couple of times just to compare). I have Rules and Junk options within New Outlook.

TraderGarry asked me to look for Outlook.exe on my PC and I found a copy of that .I was loath to open it at the time in case it created more issues but decided to be brave today. When I opened it it asked me to open my account which I did. I now have a working copy of Outlook as I knew it before all this started. I have pinned this version to my Task Bar and unpinned the "new" one and will stick with that.
As far as I am personally concerned, problem solved. I don't think Microsoft can say the same!
I'll be interested in the continuing discussion, if it continues.

I have been using the old outlook quite happily but now am getting synch problems with sending mails. Much to my surprise however, the new outlook does not (perhaps we are being forced to move?) BUT..... in the old outlook you could combine various account inboxes by using the search function and selecting all mailboxes. This does not appear to be available in the 'new' (and improved?) outlook which is not much of an improvement imo.
