New Outlook - first problem!

So which one are you actually talking about?
I think he's referring to the no pst support..., that's the entry that is link-highlighted when I click on his link, anyway...
PST is so 18th century!!! 🤷‍♂️

Could you please clarify eaxactly which Outlook you are referring to? So far you have mentioned two different versions. Outlook for Windows and Outlook in Offce 365.
This is the bane of multiple forums across the internet, through no fault of the unknowing and/or inexperienced user.

Microsoft quite frequently shoots themselves in the foot by "common" naming their products under the guise of "standardisation". They did it way back when they released Windows XP, then MS OfficeXP (renamed from MS Office 2002. Sheer stupidity). It's happened a couple of other times which escape me. They need to give responsibility for product naming to users, not a bunch of backroom PR plonkers.

If it wasn't for cries for help about MS Outlook and OneDrive, half the forums on the 'net would cease to exist.

As an OS, Microsoft's Windows is getting near to perfect. Just leave the 3rd party add-ons to experts and we can all go back to Wordperfect.

I am beginning to feel like a newby here, all because of Microsoft's naming policy and the general use of the word App for what used to be referred to as programs or software.
As I think I have said elsewhere in this thread, I am using what MS says is Outlook (New) and was downloaded automatically as part of my Office subscription to my desktop computer. This is the Home screen.
I'm getting too old for this. o_O:boom:

Sigurd, that is the general location of Office Suite files. I doubt that the Outlook app that is replacing Mail for Windows would reside in there also. So that would belong to Outlook from Office 365

I feel this is getting a bit silly but I decided to retrace my steps. This is all done on my desktop computer.
So with apologies for being so pedantic, this is what I did,
After I reinstalled Windows 11, I searched in Google for
How do I reinstall my Office 365 apps" and used the

Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office ... link that came up..

That led me to

where I was greeted in big shiny letters "Don't panic" and a Home screen that told me that

Office is now Microsoft 365

The all-new Microsoft 365 lets you create, share and collaborate all in one place with your favourite apps.

Next step was to sign in which I duly did

At the top right of the shiny new screen, was a "Install apps" box to click. I duly did that and all the Office apps, including whatever version of Outlook was included by Microsoft in this installation, were installed. This screen also included links to my recent Word documents which is why i am not showing the link.

Now I haven't repeated that so I can't be sure whether or not I was asked what version of Outlook I wanted. I don't recall being asked.
