You need to specify the exact model number for your motherboard. That is important.

The reason is you have to carefully read through the user manual to see if there any restrictions when you use certain M.2 ports. Some motherboard disable some of the SATA ports when specific M.2 ports are used.
It was mentioned in a later post that it's a ASRock Z690 Extreme.
I'll look through the manual and see if any ports are disabled because of the M.2 drive, but all the drives do show up in Device Manager Disks... I think that might mean the sata port is active?

According to the manual the only restriction is "If M2_2 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_7 will be disabled."

I am perplexed that the Samsung 870 EVO SSDs do not show up in the BIOS. SATA SSDs should show up like any SATA HDD would. They show up fine in the two computers I have them in. For example, in one computer I have 3 of them. Here is how it looks in the BIOS:

I just dug up an old 4tb Hitachi drive that I have sitting around.
I'm going to plug it in, and if it is recognized, i'll copy the one showing 6tb drive onto it. I should just be able to get all of the media on it. Then i'll format both 6tb drives via MiniTool Partition Wizard.
This will take hours, but i'll check back when it's done.

I have found that MiniTool Partition Wizard is usually a very good app to use when faced with disk management issues that are similar to what you are experiencing. The free version is the one I use and you can download a copy from the link below. Just select the free version from the download menu at the upper right section of the page.

MiniTool Partition Wizard wound up being the only thing that could get the 2nd 6tb drive up and running.
And it clearly would have worked for the two Samsung 1tb ssd's.

Ironically, this has all jogged my memory, and I remember using Partition Magic years ago for another Samsung drive that wouldn't mount on my pc.

I was paranoid of making changes to the wrong drive and being left with two 6tb blank drives, so I first backed everything up to an older drive, then I used the Partition Wizard to mount the missing drive, then I just dragged everything into the new volume. Done.
