New Version of ExplorerPatcher


Nice to see the volume notification is working again but now File Explorer opens every time I go back to the desktop while playing a game or watching a movie full screen. Anyone else got the problem?

Btw I'm on 22H2 (OS Build 22621.2283) and the latest EP build 22621.2361.58.1

Windows just updated to 2023 22H2 (OS Build 22621.2361) so I presume I was out of sync with EP because the the problem of Explorer opening whenever I went from full screen to the desktop has been fixed.

I only use it for the W10 taskbar, that seems ok.
I thought this windows update (KB5030310) was to give you 23h2 but mine is still 22h2 so I'm not quite sure what's going on

Either 23H2 is on a separate update or it is not offered at all if you have an unsupported computer. I do have an unsupported computer so I have to manually download the new Windows 11 ISO and bypass compatibility check to upgrade. Of course I will test it on my test laptop first (see 1st system specs) before I upgrade my main PC (2nd system specs).

My PC is definitely supported so I suppose I'll just have to wait, MS do say it's a gradual roll out.

I've just read up on it, most people will get and an update for 22H2 which will contain some of the things from 23H2 followed sometime after by a full update to 23H2.
  • Microsoft begins the rollout of some of the features part of the Windows 11 23H2 (2023 Update).
  • The optional update available on September 26 only enables some new features and keeps the version at 22H2.
  • The update will download automatically on October 10 during the Patch Tuesday release.
  • The full release of Windows 11 23H2 will become available before the end of 2023.

I'm in no rush to get 23H2 but just a bit confused as to when it was going to happen as a friend of mine said Tuesdays update was 23H2.

I totally agree with all you listed, this is also what I had discovered. But the downloadable ISO I didn’t think would include any recent updates, I may be wrong. I’ll have to download and compare.

Once 23H2 is offered as an update to compliant computers, they would replace the ISO with Windows 11 23H2. So downloading the ISO means you get 23H2 directly, not an updated 22H2 ISO.

I checked a couple of hours ago. The official Microsoft site still has the 22H2 version for Windows 11 or 10. 23H2 will be probably offered mid October.

Anyone else had issues recently in trying to get notification icons to show in the 'customize notification area icons' setting? If I try to get an icon to show all of the time for something new I've installed it either crashes explorer or nothing happens and the setting reverts back to being hidden.

I can force it to be shown by ticking the 'always show all icons' option at the bottom, but that then subverts my settings as I'd like quite a few of those to be hidden.

I've checked that I am on the latest version of EP and I am running Version 10.0.22621.2283 of Windows 11

Does it coming off of full screen to desktop with anything that was full screen, any video player, every browser if full screen and any game. So as I say if I'm full screen in anything when I go back to the desktop Explorer opens. Hmmm I hope that explains it for you.

I was just wanting the full layout. I can't help. I have ep but doesn't happen to me. I do have WiN10 interface but idk if that matters
