New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Must be some bug. Just download latest Explorer Patcher from the site and install on top to fix it.

No problem. Although I've used EP since it first came out I've been thinking about uninstalling it. I do have a way of pinning folders to the Taskbar which acts almost like using Toolbars so I've decided to bite the bullet and uninstall it.

I'm getting the feeling that each Windows update might be doing something to deliberately to mess EP up.
EP has been a good option and Valinet has been great at keeping it going, so a big thank you goes out to him.

I just make sure that I update Explorer Patcher after installing Windows updates to maximize compatibility. Since I fixed the File Explorer crashing every 2 seconds issue, I haven't noticed any other issues.

Here's 6 pages of thread from non EP users who have been experiencing very similar problems over the past ~2 centuries. I have witnessed very weird behaviors in File Explorer and with the Windows 11 taskbar myself actually, despite using only the latest production build of Windows 11 the whole time, and, installing EP with the option to bring back both the Windows 10 Ribbon in File Explorer and the Windows 10 taskbar is what made these problems disappear. EP is incredibly strong medicine alright. But like I explained a few pages back, you really got to make sure to know your software and tweaks... anything from a 3rd party AV to using the wrong tweak program (or using it wrong) can easily give you the impression that Windows 11 is like Billy Joel's Glass Houses, they tend to very often break Windows 11 installations IME, in such various many ways that doing a repair install of Windows 11 via an in-place upgrade (that is, combined with uninstalling EP first and reinstalling it only after) is the best way to make sure that your Windows 11 is still running stable. Else, you can keep running around in circles chasing your own tail not knowing that you have been Microsucked.

Been running the pre-release version of EP on Windows 11 22621.2428 all this week with seemingly no issues or explorer crashes. Just posting as an fyi

I have updated to the latest version of Explorer Patcher from the Update section, also build 22621.2428, no issues.

23H2 out today. Anyone test current release on 22631.2506 yet?

Tested with 25992 just for craps and giggles, everything works except the system tray

I have updated my main PC (see 2nd system specs) to 22621.2506 (last 22H2 build) and then installed the 23H2 enablement package a week ago. I also updated Explorer Patcher and Open Shell to latest version. No issues so far. My test laptop (see 1st system specs) was left behind and I also wanted to test if the old upgrade method using the ISO still works, so I didn't bother yo install all the Windows updates. I used the ISO and bypass compatibility check to upgrade to 23H2. Because of missing updates it went to 23H2 build 22631.2428 and had some minor bugs (File Explorer unstable). Once I installed all Windows updates up to build 22631.2506 and latest Explorer Patcher and Open Shell, everything was issue free.

Running on version 23H2 build 22631.2506 with EP latest Pre-release (22621.2428.59.1) and Open-Shell latest (4.4.191). No issues.

Has anyone tested the new EP on the latest windows update 23H2 (version 22631.2715).
Please share your experiences.

I updated my main PC (see 2nd system specs) to build 22631.2715 a couple of days ago. I didn't notice any issues. I guess if we keep Explorer Patcher updated or we update shortly after installing Windows updates there should be no problem.

I updated to build 22631.2715 last Wednesday. It reported that it failed to grab some of the new symbols. Next, I restarted my computer, and, it reported that the new symbols were grabbed successfully. That's it, no further issues that I could notice.

I updated to 2715 yesterday, got a nudge to download latest version of EP, did that, and restarted EP. So far, everything looks good.

Once I saw the popup for a new Explorer Patcher version and updated it, it downloaded the new symbols automatically. No issues here.

Probably the reason why it couldn't grab the new symbols on the 1st attempt for me was because at that time everyone and their cat was still downloading the CU without delivery optimization.

That is one of the reasons why I wait one or two days before installing updates. Another is that my computer is usually busy and I don't want to risk an unexpected restart.

Since updating EP a couple of days ago (v. 22621.2506.60.1), every time I try to right-click within File Explorer (including on any icon on the desktop) the screen just flashes white, File Explorer crashes then restarts, and the right-click menu never comes up. Anybody else with this problem?

I may have come up with the solution. In Explorer Patcher Properties > File Explorer > Control Interface, I changed the selection to Windows 11 Command Bar. Previously I had it set to Windows 10 Ribbon, to solve a previous problem with EP, as recommended in this thread on 8/16/2023.

I had this bug once. To fix it go at Explorer Patcher site, download latest version and install it to repair it.
