New Version of ExplorerPatcher


This is only my thoughts for what it's worth. I see posting for "New Version of Explorerpatcher" and immediately they, hey there's a new version, let me download, only to find out there isn't one, just additional replies to previous versions. I was thinking how less confusing it would be to start a new thread with each actual new version with maybe the version number as well.

I know it's trivial, but a thought.

You can also trigger a "Watch" on Releases · valinet/ExplorerPatcher and you get an email when there's a new release.

Hi! Following up my previous issue about corrupted Windows 10 UWP tiles, now I'm facing the total disappearance of them after switching from W10 SM -> W11 SM -> W10 SM. This is how it looks:

I have the same problem, I have no UWP apps in Windows 10 start menu. Please help, without UWP apps, I can't replace the original menus, they are needed. I also noticed that the search after starting typing in the windows 10 start menu does not work. I've noticed that UWP apps appear in the shell:AppsFolder folder in the original Windows 11 file explorer, but not in the one that opens with the "Pin Tiles to Windows 10 menu from File Explorer" option. I tried to create application shortcuts on the desktop using the original explorer, but when I placed them in Windows\Start Menu\Programs, all these UWP application shortcuts showed up without icons in the menu, even though they were visible in the explorer.

Thank you. I hadn't spotted there was the installable version there. Unfortunately I've just tried it with insider build 25276.rs-prerelease.230106-1334 and i still have the same problem.

I have uninstalled latest Windows Update, which have deleted also shortcut from Windows 11 menu, i must repair all UWP apllication from settings but now shortcut works for me also in Windows 10 menu. This is about update: Niezły bałagan na weekend. Windows uznał skróty użytkowników za zagrożenie

At least not after the corresponding symbols was downloaded but those were released by Microsoft almost immediately together with the Tuesday patch this month so no problem. But I recall from last Tuesday that before the symbols downloaded there was no taskbar visible whatsoever. Like a minute or so with only the screen background.

I might add that I compile the source code for EP myself. Visual Studio 2022 where I have spent a few hours in the code trying to eliminate the worst compiler warnings. I don't think that's crucial though - it's only för my own personal satisfaction.

Sure. I just put it at My homepage packed in a zip-file. The version is 22621.819.52.5 which I set myself to differ it from the official program.

I myself wouldn't use exe-files from someone I don't know but use it if you like. I guarantee it doesn't contain anything else apart from Valinet's own source code but then again, you don't know me.

You say you use Start11 in parallel. That might explain your problems. Two programs that "interfere" with explorer.exe in there own ways. Doomed to fail if you ask me like with other programs like openshell, windowblinds, elevenclock etc.
If one decide to use ExplorerPatcher I would suggest not to use anything else that interfere with it.

I know using start 11 and EP might introduce problem. It was only with the recent 11 update start giving me problems. I will install your version when I get home. Thanks for sharing. Big help to the community.

I have been using EP with Open Shell for a long time without any apparent problems. My current problem is one that many seem to havve found, that is with the latest insider builds EP causes explorer.exe to keep crashing so no desktop.
