Solved No sound coming from speakers/ speakers not detected at all windows 11 22H2


I havent tried installing directly from intel yet cos i had some trouble finding exactly the right page to go to. i have this problem w the laptops speakers and wired headphones but connecting to bluetooth headphones or speakers works fine
It really does sound as though you are having a driver conflict. Try installing the Intel Driver Support Assistant and just follow the steps. I don't know for certain that Intel has a fix for this, but evidently you're using an Intel platform so it can't hurt to see if all your Intel drivers are up to date. Windows does not always have the drivers that are specific to the component requiring attention and often offers a sort of "one size fits all" type of driver which is frequently more trouble than it is worth. Ideally, as Spapakons has already stated, you should use the driver for your audio that comes directly from the manufacturer, but this is not always possible and often the manufacturer will fail to keep the driver updated themselves. I recall having a similar thing happen to me with a Dell laptop and I had to get the driver I needed directly from Intel.

Also: Spapakons mentioned the "Optional Updates" that Windows provides at times. These are offered by Windows for when standard updates don't seem to be solving the issue. You might wish to take a peek in there as well if you haven't already. :-)

    I own too many laptops: A Dell touch screen with Windows 11 and 6 others (not counting the other four laptops I bought for this household.) Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
If downloading the native driver from the manufacturer's website and installing it won't help and installing Intel's updated version of the driver (assuming they have one) won't help, it is likely the problem is not the Intel audio driver. I'm still not entirely ruling out a driver conflict here either.

ok i downloadedd the available updates and the sound worked until i played a youtube video and cut out abruptly
just wanna mention again i have tried installing the relevant driver directly from lenovo but it doesnt fix my problem

Try a different driver from Snappy Driver Installer or similar utility.

tried installing a realtek driver form snappy and its just uninstalledd my current driver and now i have no realtek driver for the speaker at all (which im used to at this point rn lol)) im feeling very lost. should i try uninstalling every single driver related to realtek???

Uninstall all Realtek entries in Settings, Applications, Installed Applications. Then load Snappy again.

Call it old age or just being fatigued. I'm trying to remember the name of the user who is very good at fixing problems with realtek drivers. If I think of it I will post their username. He helped me get my Realtek driver problem fixed.

I have question for you, when you start listening to either of the notebook's speakers or the wired headphones
how long before it cuts out? What I'm trying to get too is, does it take a bit of time after you started listening or
is it instantaneously? If it takes a few seconds or more before it cuts out, it might be that the sound card is heating
up and thus , cuts out.

The problem I was having was that I had no sound output to my speakers using the Realtek drivers. I had to use the MS HD audio drivers. It turned out that all of the Realtek drivers I tried was sending the sound output to my external Bluetooth transmitter/receiver that I use with my headphones instead of my speakers. With the help from MokiChu I was able to find what the problem was.

Probably not your case, but if the audio device is working properly but the sound plays from a different output, such as Digital output or Bluetooth speakers, it could be that you have manually override the default audio device and Windows remember this setting. For example playing audio through Bluetooth speakers instead of the laptop speakers or the TV. All you have to do is to manually change the default audio output back to speakers or whatever you want. This is not a driver issue.

Probably not your case, but if the audio device is working properly but the sound plays from a different output, such as Digital output or Bluetooth speakers, it could be that you have manually override the default audio device and Windows remember this setting. For example playing audio through Bluetooth speakers instead of the laptop speakers or the TV. All you have to do is to manually change the default audio output back to speakers or whatever you want. This is not a driver issue.
The problem started after a Windows Insider update. For what ever reason the HD audio driver always defaulted to the speakers but the Realtek drivers always defaulted to the dongle. The way it worked before the new build was that I could keep the Bluetooth dongle plugged in to the headphone output on the front of the computer and the computer would only switch to the dongle when I turned on my headphones and switch back to the speakers when I turned them off. I didn't have to do anything on the computer.

Sorry winuser but, my question was directed at the OP.

As for your problem , That's how my BT works on this notebook But, IF I want to use either my Wireless g933 headphone or desktop speakers or the notebooks speakers then I have to direct the sound to that output. This has been the way it always was since I can remember.
Windows 11 just makes it easier to access the right output.

Once I found out that all I had to do was unplug the dongle from the headphone jack I haven't messed with it. The problem started with a newer Insider build and only when using Realtek drivers. The MS HD audio driver worked without any problems.

I have question for you, when you start listening to either of the notebook's speakers or the wired headphones
how long before it cuts out? What I'm trying to get too is, does it take a bit of time after you started listening or
is it instantaneously? If it takes a few seconds or more before it cuts out, it might be that the sound card is heating
up and thus , cuts out.
so basically i will try explain you know when you go to the task bar at the bottom right and click to adjust the sound on the slider bar and every time u adjust it it makes a bell noise, i could do that as many times as i wanted like i spammed it to check the sound and it was fine. then when i go on youtube the video lasts like few seconds before cutting out .

I did a search for my Realtek driver problem and @MoKiChU is the username of the member who helped me with my Realtek sound driver problem.

I put the @ in front of his user name so when he is logged in he will have a notification. I hope it's a fixable software problem and not a device problem.
