No sound from Speakers

Version 11 - 25H2 / Asus monitor / Realtec speakers
Recently I 'kinda' lost sound. when playing music, the sound is barely audible . . . from the monitor, Nothing from the speakers.Control Panel>sound shows the speakers are the default device. Using Control Panel>System>Sound>Properties, I can click 'Test' and hear the sound through the speakers - normal volume. But nothing from the speakers when playing music.
Help please.

It sounds like something may be wrong with the music "player" itself.
You might want to try (as a test), a different app for playing music.

Or check for altered settings in whatever "player" you are using currently.


It would help to know what "player" you are using, and what type of music "source".


Source being... youtube, music CD, .mp3 on your hard drive, etc.

Also try playback from different sources, e.g., YouTube, Media Player, etc.
