No Windows Internet Connection

Disabled Kaspersky add-on and refreshed the web page. No access.
You have a really rare problem..
Does it do the cut-off after those minutes if you use a private window in FF too?

I'm curious of what it is that kick in after those minutes.. I wonder if the task-manager and windows resource monitor can detect what process that jump-starts when the browser cut out..
But as that is real-time monitoring you need to have them open and visible while using FF as you will only get a few seconds of getting a look if you dont screen-record it...... if you have two monitors you can put the two monotoring programs on one monitor and brows on the other.... or if you only have one monitor, then make all three to fit inside one screen.... and sort them to show on CPU or disk activity.

The suggestion of disabling DoH is worth trying..

It's now 4:33am over here and I'm dead-tired after a long day.. So i will put my computers to sleep and then try to get a few hours myself.

Take care and i will drop in after i have got my two cups of wakeup coffee tomorrow. :-)

Although I am taking the long weekend off, I was curious again. I have made and had my coffee, cooked and had my draniki with maple syrup for breakfast, started to prepare a seafood pasta supper, and just now turned on the computer for only a minute (or two).

Disabling DoH had no effect. Thanks for suggesting it.

So, people, this situation is getting weirder by the moment. It's truly become THE mystery to solve.

To be fair, I have not invoked the more drastic and time-consuming options, such as clean boot. Later in the week I will, unless. . .

Perhaps, one of my faithful dedicated knowledgeable followers has a brilliant flash of inspiration.

Stay tuned.

If no change then reinstall.

I would love to "pick that OS apart" to see what is the cause.. But as we isn't neighbors i cant do that. 😅 *lol*

I don't have any more brilliant flashes. What I do ponder is why should one spend more days and more effort on wild guesses when a clean boot literally takes less time than the post you just composed. I posted a link to MS and how to perform it. It may not accomplish anything. But it will remove a lot of routes as being possibly the cause. I'm not sure why you have not performed the basic, quick and far from drastic or time consuming option presented. 🤷‍♂️

All options presented will be listed, examined, performed as warranted, and reported when I return to the office on Tuesday after my absence during this August long weekend in Canada.

Thank you for your participation so far.

I expect to complete the first draft report by the end of this week.

Who knows, it may be all resolved by then.

Cheers,

Although my Windows Internet connection breakage was unexpected, I am now viewing is as a benefit. The saving grace has been that I never stored data on anyone else's computer, the so-called "cloud" services.

For example, working on my photographic history project has never been better. With fewer distractions, I can get much more done with my hundred years of images which remain instantly and readily accessible at all times.

My rare phenomenon, whose cause has stumped everybody so far, will continue as a curiosity to be solved in due course.

Once again, I thank you all for your assistance.

I'm not sure we're so much as stumped but stymied by a lack of basic information due to a few basic troubleshooting steps not being performed.
In essence we're trying to help with our hands tied behind our back. 🤷‍♂️

We concluded with a recommendation to re-install Windows 11.
You can also re-install Windows using Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade

However

In order to perform a Repair Install / Update In Situ, ALL the following criteria MUST be met:-

You will only be able to perform a repair install of Windows 11 from within Windows 11. You will not be able to perform a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode.
The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be the same edition, same version, and same or higher build as the currently installed Windows 11.
The Windows 11 installation media (ISO or USB) must be for the same language as your currently installed Windows 11.

I appreciate your concern and desire to help, as I do with all members of this most knowledgeable Windows 11 Forum.

However, I am not near the ailing computer as I am away for the long Canadian weekend which has become longer due to exigent circumstances.

In the meantime, please remain patient. As with all projects over the course of my 50-year career in information systems design, development, and implementation, I take a methodical documented approach for all steps. This project is no different. When I have dedicated time to devote to the proper pursuit of this project, which I have named "Identify Root Cause(s) and Repair the AKA Workstation," there will be a resultant reckoning.

It's been a while since I last reported to my "No Windows Internet Connection" forum. So, here goes. . .

First of all I would like to, once again, thank the following people who took time to provide insightful assistance: @dalchina, @garlin, @HeavyHemi, @IanMosley, @jimbo45, @kelper, @KevTech, @Lavik, @Lincon, @Marie SWE, @Shambles Bank, and @XxXxX.

My "Identify Root Cause(s) and Repair the AKA Workstation" (IRCRAW) project will continue on hold until my father's 112th birthday which is October 1, 2026. Over the next two months I will be travelling and doing extensive work on my projects.

One of my projects is serving on the board of directors for the Kin Canada Foundation. This afternoon I sent the following message to my board colleagues which explains to them, and to you, how I continue to work around, and frequently, work better despite IRCRAW. Here is my message. . .

Good day Sunday, everyone!

Although I have known Bill G and used Microsoft products for over forty years now, his software sometimes behaves in its own mysterious ways.

Like Dave D, I have recently experienced a problem with my real computer caused by Bill G’s Microsoft Windows suddenly getting a kooky idea to stop communicating with the world. Was it something I said? I don’t know.

Nevertheless, I have been delaying a Windows software repair because of the disruption it would mean to my ongoing projects, the largest of which is scanning, consolidating, and organizing my family archives going back to 1920. I now have a quarter-million photographs from a variety of personal sources which I am tagging, captioning, describing, dating, locating, straightening, and de-duplicating into a single collection from which I can pull threads of stories.

For example, from my Kin career images I could produce a number of tales, some tall, some short, some not. Tales such as my first foray into supra-club politics with an election as Deputy Governor (DG) in April 1987. In this photograph I am (on the left) presenting the retired original District 6 Zone Rideau St. Lawrence (RSL) chain of office to past-DG Dave T (on the right) at the Zone RSL conference in Brockville, Ontario. By the way, Dave T was instrumental in motivating my subsequent Kin activities including volunteering on the Kin Canada Foundation (KCF) board.

Meanwhile, during my sixty years of experience in computer and other fields, I have learned to be resilient, keep my cool, and have a number of Plans B, C, D, etc. in my back pocket.

Now, on to tomorrow’s meeting. . .

Because my real computer refuses to talk to anybody out there, I had an insane idea that my virtual computer would behave better. Indeed, it does. I can run Microsoft Teams on the virtual machine almost without problem. The only issue is that virtual Windows cannot communicate with real humans through my Yeti microphone and my Logitech camera. So much for plan B unless you want an invisible, mute Alex at the meeting.

Plan C is to use a completely different computer-like thing, aka the so-called smart-phone. Yes, I have successfully installed and configured Microsoft Teams to behave on my 6-year-old Samsung Galaxy S20. I logged into my KCF account at [email protected] and, voilà, was able to host a Teams meeting on that dinky device. Too bad nobody came. And, so sorry, the selfie-camera makes a mirror of me, but it still looks like Alex, no?

Plan D is to use the telephone. Incredibly, my real computer, as well as that dinky device, continue to behave when placing telephone calls. All I have to know is the tele-conference number associated with the Teams meeting invitation. With a simple telephone call, I can listen to you all on my Bose stereo speakers and lie down, incognito, yet speak a few words here and there on the Yeti mic to appear awake. With my years at Bell Canada, I do remember a thing or two about telephones, and appearing awake.

I am looking forward to the meeting material.

And, if the world behaves, meeting all of you, really!

Cheers,
-Alex

Very nice post :-)
And I'm glad that plan C worked :-)

a thought i got when i read about your plan B
I had an insane idea that my virtual computer would behave better. Indeed, it does. I can run Microsoft Teams on the virtual machine almost without problem. The only issue is that virtual Windows cannot communicate with real humans through my Yeti microphone and my Logitech camera.
I'm just thinking out loud here :-) I dont know what VM-engine you used.. Windows Hyper-V or Virtualbox or VMware. etc. I only have experience of KVM/QEMU on Linux systems.. But i have to make hardware passthrough to get external hardware to work.. sometimes i have to dedicate the USB port itself instead of the device connected in the USB port.

My solution for video-meetings and taking notes on physical meetings is that i have a dedicated laptop for it.
I have a 13" laptop i really dont like.. and it was about to end up on the shelf for my retro computer collection.. one day i decided it do have enough hardware for video meetings and to just transport data if I'm going on meetings and to take some notes on... so i took that one for it. :-)
13" is way to small for daily usage.. a keyboard that dont feel good.. a touchpad without real mouse buttons.. only 6GB ram (4GB soldered on the board an 2GB stick)
But i can survive a video meeting on 13" "craptop"... and to take a few notes on during physical meeting. 🤓

So consider my solution as Plan E :-)
