Solved not able to run setup.exe from the USB drive


found a solution
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
delete if found SetupHost.exe setupprep.exe Setup.exe
source(russian): https: // remontka.pro/setup-exe-doesnt-run/

After repeat sessions attempting any of the latest rufus updates, this is what fixed setup not running (from previous failed attempts). Thanks for posting.

you're truly a life saver! I was about to format my whole system because i couldn't do any inplace upgrade. Thank you very much again!
