Onedrive has taken over my new computer!!

That said, for me OneDrive is one of my top 5 must have apps, and one I couldn't live without. And especially since you get 1TB of free storage with an Office 365 subscription (which is also another of my can't live without software packages). Also, that I can drops files in it from one PC and access those files from another, including my Android phone, with ease. Also, that those files are backed up online.

Agree! My top 2 of what I can't live without are Microsoft 365 and OneDrive. My Microsoft 365 with all of Microsoft Office and included 1 Terabyte of cloud OneDrive meshes nicely with my 1 Terabyte local SSD. My OneDrive real-time cloud data mirror has saved my bacon many times since 2007.

My 5 most used apps by order of use:

1) Microsoft Edge (Chromium)
2) Microsoft 365 subscription (Outlook, Word, Excel, 1 TB cloud OneDrive)
3) OneDrive
4) OneNote
5) Lightroom/Photoshop subscription

User since SkyDrive was introduced in 2007.
Rebranded OneDrive in 2014 because of UK SkyDrive.
Remember when OneDrive had unlimited storage space?
Increased Internet speed killed that.

I don't remember it being unlimited, but yes, I was using it from the beginning as well.

BTW, I also have the Lightroom/Photoshop subscription.

I have OneDrive as I need to access my files on my phone or tablet as well as my laptop. I also selected Documents, Photos, Videos and Music to save on my computer aswell in the event I don't have internet. All my syncing icons are green and all documents/photos are available offline as well as in the cloud. Easier and more convenient than downloading and uploading when needed.

I uncheck the checkbox in OneDrive settings for Files On Demand. This makes all of local OneDrive a mirror of cloud OneDrive. It accomplishes the same thing in one fell swoop and you never have to think about it again.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the initial amount 1TB of free storage whether you had Office or not?

I don't remember the exact amount. I do know that after MS saw how popular OneDrive was, they cut the amount of free storage and a lot of users had to remove their files while they had the chance.

Free OneDrive storage will decrease from 15 GB to 5 GB for all users, current and new.

Well at least you can still get 15GB with "fake" referrals. :shush:

You mean using? If eshop offers free delivery and I order matches for 20 cents and the shops pays $20 postage, it is not my fault. The point is that MS was not expecting people to actually take upon the offer, it was just fake marketing, so MS is to blame.

That is what I use cloud storage for, considering how easily movies become unwanted or even illegal and then get banned.

Perhaps you should argue that point with Microsoft. After all they made the decision
