That's one of the complaints I have about my new Galaxy S22+, no memory card slot. The other complaint is that all three buttons are on the same side. I keep hitting the volume controls.

Yeah, I gathered that. Anyway, I was going to get a 512gig card, but with the advent of cloud storage, I decided that was a waste as anything I needed, I could just get from through OneDrive.

Additionally, I don't even store music on my phone anymore because I can just stream it from my NAS or use my Spotify account. In the end I found I don't need large storage cards anymore. That said, I do have a 256gig micro-SD card in the phone but that's more about holding my photos and videos shot with the phone.

BTW, cloud storage is also a reason why mobile phone manufacturers like Samsung and Apple are removing SD card capabilities and decreasing phone storage sizes. Something I don't agree with though I do see the logic behind it.

Yeah, my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the same with the buttons. It did come with a SD card slot though I believe that's the last model as the Note 22 doesn't have an SD card slot (aka support for expandable storage).

Right now, I'm on month 2.5 of a 3-month free trial. Afte which I'll have to decide if I want to pay 8 bucks a month or not.

At the moment I find it extremely useful as I can preview something before actually buying it. I've been living in a jazz forum at stevehoffman.com where they discuss jazz and having Spotify has allowed me to preview a lot of stuff discussed there. Most of the members there are old head jazz aficionados, so most of the posts there range from 50-60s bop or traditional jazz. I'm one of the outliers there as my jazz era is 70s jazz.

Anyway, here I find Spotify extremely useful in allowing to preview stuff I'd otherwise would never listen to let alone buy.

I use the Spotify app on my phone to play on my car stereo through Bluetooth. For whatever reason, in N.J. or at least around my area, cell phone signal isn't the greatest so I download the play lists that I want to my phone. I still have plenty of storage space on my phone so even though I would prefer to use a memory card I haven't ran into any problems using the internal storage.

I use Plex (Plexamp on the phone) to stream from my NAS to my car's entertainment center. Lucky for me I rarely run into issues, and I've done 3-hour drives from my area in Virgina to Maryland.

I got Spotify about 3 months ago, and also play through my car system, but I mostly listen to my own collection through Plex. I do have some music files installed on my phone for "just in case moments" but that's nowhere near my collection.

You can get a USB stick or adapter and plug it into the phone - same spot you put charger.

I have one of those myself. It's just a USB to micro-USB adapter. Also have the Samsung USB-to-USB Type-C adapter (same basic design). Anyway, they came with my phones, so I didn't have to buy them.

That said, who wants to walk around with that being attached to a phone all day. And it's a sure-fire way to damage the port if it's hit against something.

You can use your cell phone to connect to your NAS at home without issue? Now I know for sure that we in N.J. are getting shafted when it comes to cell signal.

Yeah. And in fact, I can access other content on the drive through the OS5 (Western Digital's NAS OS) software app for Android devices.

This is my WD NAS. Its cloud based and requires an Ethernet cable to connect to the PC/router. Mine is connected to my router. It also natively supports Plex. The one shown is diskless, so you have to add you own disks. I'm running four 6TB drives running in RAID 10.

But yeah, no streaming issues as long as there's internet / cell service. I'm surprised you have issue in N.J. as I've driven through it plenty of times (N.J. Turnpike) and never had cell phone issues.

If you come through N.J. again try getting away from the turnpike and cruise around our rural areas. A few months ago my son was at a car dealership near Turnersville. He had to log into his banking account to OK a transfer to the dealer. We had to ride around until we found an arear with a strong enough signal. Where I live I have to keep a ground line because I can't always depend on my cell phone.
