- What are the issues with Edge? And how is the Edge issue (i.e., it's just another browser that does nothing until you open it) similar to OneDrive?
- Looking through the Microsoft installed apps (concentrating on Microsoft); and sorting by Date Installed (none explicitly by me),

I dont know how it is now after Brexit... But for you in the US can always download the UK/European english ISO and that way be able to take advantages of EU' rage on MS

Some of those are not APPs but components and may render windows useless.

Very true! Just imagine what might happen if one tries to Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022...

But this is just the kind of deceit I'm talking about. It may seem insignificant to people who understand computer fundamentals but it's sloppy, and it shows an attitude of disrespect (or, more to the point, indifference) on the part of Microsoft--who would invite a user to "Remove" a "(non) Program" when by so doing s/he could "render windows useless"?

These small things add up...and say as much about the quality (or, more to the point, integrity) of the company as the programs it misrepresents.

I don’t think Microsoft is inviting anyone to remove anything. And to be frank, users who don’t know what Microsoft Visual C++ (or anything else) is, shouldn’t be removing or screwing around with it. Don’t you think? And where does deceit come into play?

Those tutorials are to prevent removal/un-installation of APPs and components, or even their listing. Why do I do it in some occasions?
In many instances I was asked to fix a PC with malfunctioning or disabled windows. Multiple users, usually family, with single account. Some more "knowledgeable" users would attempt to de-bloat windows by uninstalling what they think is unnecessary programs. components or disable them, some even attempted to delete critical system files as "unnecessary" and taking disk space. Although mostly hidden and well protected with some determination they still can be screwed up.

Yes confusing, all but Windows security can be uninstalled. Of all others i kept only Store others are gone as I don't have any use for them.

I have no need for it on my system same goes for news feeds/... this is all best used with my preferred browse when i wish to do it or not

There are all these tubes, wires, wing nuts and parts that could be removed at the top of my cars engine, doesn’t mean I should start just randomly removing stuff. I find it funny that someone would just remove something from anything without investigating what that something does. Like with my car, I remove something and whatever I remove it from breaks, that’s on me. But why would I?

UK is not part of EU. There is no such version as European English. What they call International is UK iso.

I imagine EU versions will be updated N versions. Even though they exist, majority never used them The EU cannot dictate what MS supply only ensure that EU users get a choice.

Frankly it is garbage - just petty EU bureacrats pompously being self important.

I say Microsoft's-board is crap, as they force users to use things they dont want.. If i want to use Firefox, why in the heck should Edge still be installed on the system and taking up space.. If i dont want copilot or cortana.. why should i be forced to use it or having it taking up space on the system.. The same for Xbox.. its a damn game console, it should not be on a office computer.

So even i vote for Swexit, EU is doing a good thing forcing MS to make it possible for us users to uninstall bloatware without the need of being a IT pro and learn how to hack the system to get stuff out.
I dont choose windows, I'm forced to use windows or Mac to be able to use some society/government/banking services.. And when MS has the world monopoly they should not act as jackasses and take advantage of it as Apple always have done with locking up people in a ecosystem.

I loved Win2000, and i really liked WinXP SP3.. and i also liked win7. So i dont dislike windows, i dislike the MS-board decisions for messing up Windows from win8 and newer.

I say if MS want to make 10/11 like they are doing.. they should release the LTSC version to normal people.. that is business only volume licencing.. that way everyone get what they want.. but if they did release the LTSC to the public.. almost no one would buy home or pro if they can get a more stable system.

That is my opinion

Your car isn't obsessed with changing all the time. It doesn't think that without changing constantly, it'll stop profiting off you. Just think you're parked in a huge parking lot and your car decides it'll be gold colored (oh..no..not gold then you wouldn't be able to tell it from the rest of the coast. How about outback brown) so you spend hours trying to find it...
...But you might think of removing stuff (file down those wings) if it meant you would have a leaner/meaner machine...And what about it calling your phone to provide you with a code to enter every time you tried to open the door? And that key you lost that now costs around $600 because it needs to be programmed... (I need to learn Macrium. No program seems more sacrosanct on this forum.)

I did it. I just subscribed to Macrium. (Ebony Friday sale)
Oh, and Marie, there are a few squirrily things about Free File Sync (having to do with duplicate files; having to do with..(yes you guessed it, OneDrive, that I'm trying to work through.
