Windows 11
Since updating from 10 to 11 this morning, my computer hasn’t stopped crashing every 10-15 minutes or so since then.

Model of my computer: Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition, 64-bit

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT 8-Core Processor

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

Installed RAM: 32GB

OS build: 24H2, 26100.6584

I’m on the latest Windows Update, and there’s no optional updates available to me.

I’ve updated the NVIDIA side completely from the GeForce app.

In the Intel SupportAssist app I only have one update being the SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools but that’ll always get to 100% and either crash or never finish updating, but it’s never updated for a while I believe.

I’ve gotten a collage of different error messages, when I look them up most of them point to either failing RAM (which Windows says isn’t the case) or faulty/bad drivers. I’ve tried to go through a bunch of individual things in Device Manager but nothing I’ve tried so far seems to need driver updates.

My PC will also freeze up not allowing me to move the mouse until I reset it every now and again, not as consistent as the crashes but also a factor.

Here are the error codes I’ve gotten so far:

Kernel Security Check Failure
APC INDEX MISMATCH ATTEMPTED
EXECUTE OF NOEXECUTE MEMORY
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
IRQL_UNEXPECTED_VALUE

And here is the link to the minidumps folder with the DMP files:

MediaFire

Here is the link to the folder via the V2 Log Collector:

MediaFire

In terms of the fixes I’ve tried to make:

I tried running Windows Memory Diagnostics and it came back clean with no issues.

Tried deleting Windows GameInput since that was creating error messages in Event Viewer, the errors are gone but the crashes are still happening.

And tried updating everything + a bunch of bluetooth/system drivers in Device Manager.

I’ve seen other threads saying to disconnect bluetooth devices/remove them completely, but that’s pretty much the last thing I feel like I haven’t done. I've seen suggestions saying to reinstall Win11 and put all my files on an external hard drive but I'd really love to find a solution that's easier. Should I try to manually install drivers via NVIDIA/Intel?

I guess I could always go back to 10 if I REALLY need to but I need this to work, for well, work. Any help is very much appreciated.

If you only upgraded this morning then you probably need diagnostics and some help from @zbook.

Did you follow the BSOD posting instructions at the top of this page?

There were multiple files missing from V2.

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

2) Create a new restore point:

3) Open Msinfo32 save as:
a) NFO > post a share link
b) txt > post a share link

4) Post a new V2 share link into the newest post after completing all of the above steps

I apologize, I could only get V2 to work when I ran in Safe Mode because my computer crashes before it completes the new folder, getting stuck at "Waiting for Msinfo32", but as the program goes it fails to download files it would have if it weren't in Safe Mode.

Tried once more, this time making sure Msinfo32 wasn't open in the background and that seems to have worked.

Updated V2 file:

Did the Scannow prompt, system came back clean with no issues.

Did the RestoreHealth and it said it completed, not needing a restart.... and then my PC crashed about 10 seconds later lmao.

Please post a Dell link for the computer's drivers /BIOS.

Replace the Nvidia GPU driver with the version from the Dell website.

Then run overnight the complete Dell diagnostics > take pictures > post images or share links

If BSOD continue after replacing the GPU drivers then post a new V2 into the newest post.

And if BSOD continue with unremarkable Dell diagnostics then plan to clean install.

I would first see if there is any BIOS update that might improve stability and compatibility with Windows 11. Then I would download latest chipset driver directly from AMD and install it. Finally I would download latest graphics drivers directly from nVidia.

Updated the NVIDIA graphics drivers from Dell website, AMD chipset drivers from AMD website, and did the BIOS updates from Dell website, and still getting crashes. This time with the "ntoskrnl.exe failed" error.

Here's the screenshot from the Dell Diagnostics test. Came back clean.

I've had a couple crashes since then, last one being because of "Ntfs.sys"

I feel like I've done every scan of the hardware possible and everything comes back fine. At this point it feels like having to do a clean install of Win11 is the only thing I can do since this update had to be corrupted somehow. Should I revert to a restore point before Win11 and then clean install it after? I haven't gone through that process before, so any help is appreciated.

Here is the updated V2:

Thank you once again @zbook.

If there is a restore point to return to, I would try that first to hopefully avoid a clean installation. My experience says that the last restore point might not fix the issue, so pick the previous one, if any. If nothing else works, then I would backup the data, wipe the disk and reinstall Windows. I would copy all drivers to a USB flash drive and make sure I install them before connecting to the internet and letting Windows Update messing with them. Install the chipset driver first as any other drivers depend on it.

1) Please post a Dell link for the computer's drivers /BIOS.

2) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

sc query ucpd

sc config UCPD start=auto

schtasks /change /Enable /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\AppxDeploymentClient\UCPD velocity"

Post a share link.

3) Reboot

4) Create a new restore point

5) Run Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

MemTest86+ - Test RAM

6) For any new BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post

Cause vs coincidence:

If BSOD continue after a Windows 11 clean install then clean install Windows 10.

Then more rigorous hardware testing can be performed.

Go to Task Manager>Startup and disable all third party programmes from auto starting.
Then shutdown and power OFF for a minute and restart.
Are the crashes still happening?
