OS
windows 11
hey,
I have two printers i thought were installed. Windows keeps saying unavailable drivers.. then other times it tells me to go to the microsoft store for drivers.. I have two cds with the printers drivers etc. One: hp4650, inkjet, and a laser mf-3010, i saw both in the device manager, then did a restart and there were only one printer for .pdf a default with windows 11 fake printer.. or software printer that comes with win11.
Using the cd's running each printers drivers and software, i once upon a time printed test pages, but after restart, now all the drivers are gone for both printers. Both printers worked on my old pc with 64 bit the hp printer, and a 32 bit laser printer. Nothing works now. I did configure the 32bit one to work in win11 allowing 32 bits to work with a 64bit system, but this didn't seem to help. Maybe it did, because then i saw the 32 bit laser in the list in device manager. now both are needing drivers.
I cannot for the life of me wonder why all this crazyness of showing up then not showing up was suppose to be.. i'm at a cross roads of just deleting both printers and reinstalling them.. but i need experts to tell me what to do....windows 11 is acting crazy... i have a memory amount of 32 geg, a 3.40 geg processor, windows 11, came installed at time of purchase.
What to do now?
Thanks prior to you helping me

i would disconnect both printers then open the device manager and delete/remove both printers from the system.
restart and then check that they have both been removed.

then set each printer up separately/individually
restarting the system between each setup of each printer
and testing each printer after set up

it also maybe an idea to disable let windows manage printers
settings > blue tooth and devices > printers and scanners

best of luck Steve ..

You need to be aware of this change (Protected Print Mode) that Microsoft seems to have implemented in Windows 11's latest build. Download the lastest drivers for your printers as suggested in the previous post. Windows will either accept them or refuse to load them. Do one at a time..
Read Brink's tutorial and pay particular attention to Mopria Certified Printers. My HP Color Laserjet was certified. Check to see if either of yours are certified.
If your lucky enough to have a certified printer turning on Protected Print Mode may be a good option for you.
