I have changed ownership to me and I have full control but when I try to delete the key I get the error...

Why are you trying to delete it?
How to remove the warning of Event ID 1534?
I'm getting tons of these events

1, Call the registry editor Regedit (with administrator privileges) and navigate to the following two registry entries.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\
CurrentVersion\ProfileNotification

Apparently if this is deleted it corrects it. I exported the keys just in case

I don't know how you are doing it. Export the registry first. Highlight the right hand column entry and press delete or right click and see the options for delete.

If you are running as administrator, safe mode shouldn't be necessary as far as I know, obviously try without first, then safe mode. Just wondered where you are finding these warnings to?

Read this post... mainly for the links to either of two programs at the bottom of the post.
Either of those programs will allow you to open regedit.exe as if YOU were the Trusted Installer.

Be very careful. When running regedit as if you are Trusted Installer, you can do ANYthing. ^^

Merry Christmas. :-)

I'm guessing that's a false positive.
A program capable of changing permissions would probably "look" similar to some nefarious programs.

Malarebytes does the same, Heur.AduML.C, and have to set to allow list. Defender sees no threat.

@Fabler2 At least Norton removed the threat, I wouldn't feel happy just leaving it on my system. and that is why I don't use defender myself

I don't think it will remove a stubborn reg key in that state, don't have a key to test on, but not worried about it as I think like @Ghot that it's a false positive. Hopefully @f14tomcat ,who first showed me the software, can chime in.

I'm guessing that's a false positive.
A program capable of changing permissions would probably "look" similar to some nefarious programs.
I ran the portable version and windows barked like that but I allowed it anyway. It is not a virus
