Solved QTTabBar


Hi.
Is anyone else having a QTTabbar that has stopped working after the latest Windows 11 "2025-11 Preview Update (KB5070311) (26200.7309)" being installed? I've tried multiple uninstalls & reinstalls, and QTTabbar is just not working. Unless there are additional steps that are required since the above update. :think:

Up until this morning's update, I've only ever managed to get the "2048 Beta2" to run on my Windows 11 installs. But I'll give 1038 a shot and see if it does run.

Be careful get 2048 completely uninstalled!
I had a mess on Canary with the 2 versions.

Sure thing. I've always used the recommended uninstall method as per the QuizoApps site.

I'm still stuck struggling with trying to find a reputable download link for v1038. Any recommendations on where I can source this?
And the no dark mode is going to sting a bit, since I prefer that mode. But we'll see how it goes.

One of the reasons I like Version 1038, you can configure the Desktop Tool from the Taskbar...

Yes, I had the same problem today, but thanks to a restore point, I was able to restore my Windows to 30 November. Now Qtabbar is working again. I paused Windows Update for 5 weeks.

Well, sort of glad I'm not alone on this, unfortunately. I'll try the QTTabBar v1038 once and see how it all goes.

Perhaps needless to say..., but, you can pretty much make the appearance and functionality of either versions identical on 'most' Windows Builds!

Install a third party file manager. I've File Explorer Tool. Pro. No need to mess around with File Explorer.

You can find it in the Microsoft Store. Its a modern file manager with features Windows File Explorer lacks.
