Solved QTTabBar

Here's a setting I keep forgetting about:
In the Preview-Text section, set the KiB to maximum, (16 I believe)...,

... that will allow you to Mouse Hover read/scan a large supported document in it's entirety...

Hello Edwin,

How do you manage to scroll through the text in the preview? when I do it with the mouse wheel it jsut scroll through the explorer window, same with page up or page down, the arrows select another file... I tried with the modifications key ctrl alt shift, all possible combinations... did nothing either!

And I'm back using QTTabBar v2048 on the latest version of Windows 11.
I had uninstalled QTTabBar.
Installed all Windows Updates.
Temporarily used Explorer Tab Utility while waiting for a Windows Update to fix the QTTabBar not working issue.
Today I decided to try the wenbang's Vivetool method, while QTTabBar is still uninstalled.
I then installed QTTabBar v2048, and "BOOM!", QTTabBar is working like before.
And all is right with the world again. :D

Was there an actual Windows Update that fixed the QTTabBar issue?

BTW, with the solution you applied, did you still use vivetool to disable the Windows feature that caused the problem?

Nope. There wasn't.

Yep, just as the steps I wrote in the previous post.

I assume in the end QTTabBar is working, but as you disabled the Windows feature with vivetool, you also remain without the dark theme upgrades in File Explorer?

This is how I managed to make QTTabBar work for me, and I wonder if it remains the same for you (no dark theme updates).

QTT works as it did before for me. Dark theme is consistent throughout, unlike what it was before the December 2025 update.

Can you tell, when you copy/paste/move files in File Explorer, does the transfer popup windows appear in dark theme, even if you disabled the feature in vivetool?

@OverDose Oh! So it is different for me!
Thank you.

Can you please advise what exact steps did you follow to enable QTTabBar?
wenbang has provided a few methods, so I wonder which one allows to get the results you have got.

See my post for all I did: QTTabBar
And the only steps I did form wenbang's blog is the one dated 09 December 2025 (written as 12/09/2025 - since they keep changing the listed date format). And that's all I did.

Dark Mode is fairly consistent here, except for a number of Control Panel applets, of course...

Sadly I am not able to see all the bars after following the steps.

This is what I have done::
- Uninstall qttabbar
- Enable 57048216 in vivetool
- Restart
- Run QTTabBar_Restore
- Install qttabbar

And this results in some of the bars (top bar, toolbar) not showing in the menu:

Am I missing something?

Your second step is incorrect.
You should disable the Vivetool step, as stated on wenbng’s post. Not enable.

And when installing QTTabBar I didn’t run the QTabBar_Restore step. I just installed from the main installer. And that’s it.

Hello everyone!

I have another question !

among the many ergonomic softwares that I use beside Qttabbar, I have Rocketdock! Witch I found very convinient, but everytime I open a folder with it, It open in a new window, not a new tab!
I checked the capture option in QTtabbar but everything is checked (exept "no capture from desktop") and there's no exclusion folder in the list!
I tried the default view capture as well as the up view (since I have upper tabs) capture but that doesn't change anything.

any solution ?

thanks!

any solution ?
Couldn't tell ya, as I don't have RocketDock to try it!
Just try different settings in a process of elimination.
I do know wheel-clicking works in some scenarios.
