Thanks for the tweaks, I have learnt how to disable devices via CMD, much easier after weekly Canary upgrades.

i was surprised how downright esoteric some things were to find. i think its the windows culture to avoid CLI, so for example, the "pnputil" program to disable devices from Device Manager was stumbled upon by accident looking for other tweaks.

all the undocumented reg keys are tricky too. some i refuse to put in i come across. "Policy" ones i avoid too because 0 could be enabled instead of disabled, and vice versa. that and if the other settings are adjusted, it should automatically set the policy reg keys (i think? lol). some policy values are 2 and other odd values like 3. alot are not googlable.

some other reg have the 0 and 1 swapped so disabled is weirdly 1 instead of 0. thats such a headache. and some you cant even google. the only results are the output from the DLL they got the reg keys from.

im going to start the next process of making revert scripts to disable the tweaks, for testing and finding bad tweaks. i wanted to add as many tweaks as i could find, and then make the revert scripts after so i wouldnt have to update two scripts at the same time.

most importantly like you said, since we do use canary, its vital and essential for us to use scripts to setup the machine. i dont want to spend hours going through menus adjusting settings after every canary build update. no one does lol. i would honestly deploy this same method in a corporate environment on all the machines too, so its a good learning experience to being a more efficient admin.

i also got to say dude, you were like one of the first dudes i came across when looking up tweaks. i straight up copied and pasted alot of your stuff lol. it saved me alot of time. im happy you started before i did, but im most happy we both were able to learn things from eachother and be better at what we do. cheers brother

NTlite and vlite forced me to look into tweaks, since I did not want to spend 2-3 hours twice a week to setup everything. But my tweaks journey started by a simple green loading bar in Windows Explorer caused by some network sharing, I would never ever use.

aww dude lol i remember that happening to me too. like even in windows xp/7 days if i recall. i never knew the reason though, all those file and printer sharing and network sharing options are so bad and im glad they disabled them by default now on Home edition. they gutted remote desktop from Home edition supposedly, but i still remove alot of remote connection stuff on my machine even though im on Home edition
