Not where she lives. She can only get bad DSL. She lives in the sticks in rural Georgia, USA. She's almost do better with two signal flags. :ROFLMAO:

Hmm J I live in rural NSW and the only access is by either a wifi tower or satellite and the satellite one I cannot afford to get. My ISP does offer
100mbs on a plan but that is limited to those who can get it wired or have fibre to their premises and the infrastructure out where I live neither of those exists and they will not allow wifi access for that speed even though I can afford it.
Having said that I feel really sorry for your Mum as that must be very frustrating eh??

Fortunately, all she does is check email and access web pages. Since it's tied to her phone, she rarely loses it, but that doesn't matter because she loses power a lot. She's so far out, she doesn't even have a cell signal. I've had to go out there to work occasionally for various reasons, but I would just access the classes I teach online. It was sloooow, but I had to be patient with what I had.

Well J (sorry don't know your first name) that's all well and good but you would think in this day and age that higher speeds would be available to everyone as although I am on a provider plan of 50mb/s I sometimes get a speed test of approaching 70!! So I have a suspicion that they can provide the 100mb/s I want they throttle it for some obscure reason. But I suppose I am lucky in a way when people like your Mum has to put up with what she has to and you live in the US which we (as out here in Australia) mostly think of as world leaders in the availability of things such as advances in technological stuff such as net access.

While the d/l speed exceeds my expectations, the u/l speed is terrible. Been dealing with my provider for over a month to get it fixed, should be at least 30-35 for u/l. 4 different techs, a tech supervisor, and 2 maintenance people have not been able to get it sorted. Latest word is up to 6 weeks for construction maintenance to come out, whatever that is. My neighbor has the same issue.

Is it? I believe you're living in an area with a way faster internet comparing to mine. My son offered me a faster connection thru other provider but I said thanks, I can live with it. I'm a retired man who no longer working from home. Better save some for other stuffs.

But your download speed is like 20 times faster then mine. As long as you don't need to work with much uploading stuffs, I think you are definitely so OK. :wink:
