Your line is highly assymetrical, you have a nice place inside the kingdom of bufferbloat. If you max your download link with a large download and at the same time you do, let's say, a videocall the other part should have sound and video image every 10 seconds at the best with 20-25 Mbps upload link.. You should ask your ISP for a better upload plan, at least 250 Mbps ideally a symmetrical link. Ping is also very high if the culprit is your ISP's internal routing it's a big problem

how is a 12ms ping high for 58 miles??

I only used video calls on Zoom for Therapy sessions and WebEx for court.. but not in a long while.

my modem is a Arris SurfBoard SB8200 so I need to upgrade to a better modem to get the better upload speeds that should be available with my plan...
I just don't have $219.99 to buy it..

After 6 years, my modem gave in and died last night. Called up my provider, did some diagnostics and advised me to walk into any nearest store and have my modem replaced. Got a new one within an hour and it's up and running again.

Oh, the replacement was free. I went to a provider's store and showed them the replacement order the agent sent to me by email. The modem is the Home Hub 3000. It was replaced with the same model. I have the option to wait for the replacement in the mail or I can pick one up from a store which is just 2kms drive.

I'm on Fiber I do not have a modem, just ONT connected to my primary router and a second router, (Fritz!Box), just for VoIP telephony

but how come your speeds are not what they are supposed to be?

My modem/router is provided by the ISP. Depending on your plan, you'll get a different model. The latest model (Giga Hub) is for Wifi 6. My current 1Gbps plan is just 5G.
