I already have it, and had it installed, but since I never used it, I never installed it again when I did a clean install.

Yeah, if the app isn't working to your expectations, then yeah, get a refund. For me, as a screen capture app, its meeting my needs. Plus, it didn't cost me a lot ($38 USD) as I took advantage of the Education pricing.

Snagit, the only one I use. Love the scrolling capture.

I fixed my issue by using a program called Screenpresso. I can draw a capture area and easily use say CTRL + Z to keep capturing pages. As I said SnagIt only captures about 80 pages then just shuts down, so for me my issue is resolved. I Still use Snagit since it has a lot of mark up, labeling etc to images.

Ironically, the above post was a scrolling capture of Snagit's update window..., but, I had to use ShareX to capture it!!!

Just got the update notice when I opened Snagit 2023. Updating now.

Last week I found snips from Snagit were not color managed - meaning if you take a snip of something with Snagit that snip would not include a color profile (typically the universal sRGB profile).

This can be verified with a color managed program like Photoshop where opening an image you are alerted as to whether a color profile is embedded in an image or not, and what that color profile is and seen below...



Additionally, I also found Snagit actually strips color profiles from images edited in it. The two images below illustrate this very well. The first image has the sRGB color profile embedded. The second image's color profile was removed (stripped) after editing in Snagit...

Anyway, after multiple emails to Snagit's tech support and them trying to BS me that Snagit was color managed, they finally acknowledged it wasn't for Windows, and would be looked into for future releases....

Anyway, this might not be important to all, but it certainly is something to be aware of if you edit an image, example adding text as above; here any editing in Snagit will remove your color profile.

And yes, I am running the latest build as I just renewed my maintenance license.

I find it much cheaper to stay on a maintenance agreement (approx $15 to $20) yearly rather than pay $80+ full price or $45+ for the upgrade every single year.

Note prices are in Canadian $$$$.

Yeah, it works out if you update yearly. If you think about it though you in effect paying a subscription. They just don't call it that
