I agree. I have several post in this forum about W11 and how it's not a finished OS yet. Just go into your Recovery and choose to go back to previous OS. In a matter of minutes you will have Windows 10 again. I am waiting until next year when all the missing or silly Context Menus, Start Menu and Taskbar Options are addressed in a major update.

By what measure is it not finished??

There will be fixes and improvements , sure, but don't expect MS to make major changes to the things you mentioned. They've committed to this new direction and will not change the default way windows 11 works. You'll either have to use some of the tweaks listed in this forum's tutorial section, use third party tools, or stick with 10. Despite some bugs that will eventually get worked out, the vast majority of people who use 11 have no major issues with it and like it.

Meh..., it is what it is! My .376 Build is quite stable actually, runnin like a top!

We could go on and on about Microsoft's *ahem* shortcomings but frankly, I'm tiring of it!
Just go with the flow.

I recently restored my Win 10 image to a spare SSD just to update it and clean it up some. TBH, I don't miss it.

So basically, "icons vs thumbnails".

Yes, have this as well, and some settings pages just close in 100% cases after 30 seconds, such as advanced display properties.

It does show the .img extension in miniatures , it shows only .jpg ext. in pictograms !
I wonder what (?) is the difference between these two extensions .............

Then HOW (??) to fix it ; .jpg in miniatures .............

Your File Explorer is also showing the W10 style ribbon at the top instead of the new W11 menu bar. The 'pictogram', or the icon for Photos as it actually is, shows because a thumbnail has not yet been generated. With some difficulty I can get mine to show the same thing. I had to use 'pinch-zoom' on my touchpad to resize the pictures until I found a zoom size that had an incomplete set of thumbnails.

I then pressed the F5 key to refresh the view, and all the remaining thumbnails appeared.

Has nothing to do with the problem of not showing miniatures instead of all these horrible pictograms in a photo-folder..........
Can I download and use this "pinch-zoom " , and how to use it for having my miniatures back ......??

pinch zoom is a two-finger gesture that's built in to the Windows OS, it works for most things that can be zoomed, such as browsers or even Notepad. Place two fingers on the touchpad, then move them apart horizontally to make things larger, or move together to make them smaller.

For a mouse (I believe, not actually having one) the mouse wheel can do the same thing.

Try Ctrl+Mousewheel first...

Again no luck .........tried it several times !
Only by pressing Ctrl and moving the mousewheel changed the display of all items in the photo-folder ( big icons , small icons ,details, etc )
Have to search on for solution..............

Yes it has, it was finished with Windows 7, but they decided to start all over again.
