Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.1344.

This past Tuesday update broke the double row taskbar/system tray icons. Neither of the registry keys allow for multiple rows now. I really relied on that.

Does anyone have a solution other than wait and see if Microsoft adds the functionality back in? I don't run any third party apps on my system to make such changes. Mine was done in the registry.

Thanks in advance!

Same here.

The purpose of this update apparently is to "make the PC more tablet-friendly". Please remember, they tried the same thing with Windows 8. Yeah, that worked out so great, didn't it. It seems Microsoft don't learn from their mistakes.

Hope they allow us to re-apply this customization again in a future update. My systray looks so ugly now.

Well what is so stupid about all of this is the default behavior is a single row and there was no Windows setting for it - so as to not affect the tablets. Why do they have to take it away from desktop users? I mean we had to make a registry edit to accomplish it - something not likely to be done on a tablet by a tablet user...

Exactly my point. I don't mind if they want to make it more attractive to tablet users, Microsoft is a business and there is money to be made. I totally get that and I would even be fine with it. But I think they might be forgetting that Windows is still primarily a desktop PC OS. The market share of tablets is only 5% that of desktop PCs worldwide (source: Desktop vs Mobile vs Tablet Market Share Worldwide | Statcounter Global Stats ).

Guess we'll just have to wait and see if we at least get our registry hack back.
