Hi folks

A.I and translation software has so much improved that it's brilliant these days even to get subtitles translated to languages that normallly don't have them. My elderly grandparents for example (although of course they like most people here understand English) like to have subtitles available especially as modern productions seem to have very poor audio - even in the original language.

So they are enjoying the great movie "Amsterdam" about a real crime back in 1930's NY with Icelandic subtitles.

Just get your subtitle in srt, sub or whatever and use the link to translate. save and then copy / move to your movie / multimedia folder. Note though rename as if you say translate a .eng.srt as in my case is -- the file is still labeled .... eng.srt. Change name to say xxxx.is.srt and copy to folder.

Often also to get subtitles = opensubtitles.org is a good source when thy aren't originally available

Translator works perfectly in W11 and on Firefox. Can't see why other browsers won't work either.

Cheers
jimbo
