Suddenly stuck on "Edit Boot Options"

All of the sudden I am getting this screen immidiately after powering on. My keyboard won't respond so pressing enter or esc doesn't accomplish anything. When I boot it comes up so quickly that I can't get the enter UEFI or Boot Menu commands to register. Possibly due to fast boot perhaps but I have always been able to access them previously. Also because of the quickness attempting to do a triple boot hard reset to access the recovery mode doesn't work. So obviously with no access to boot menus, ability to boot from a Recovery USB or enter UEFI and no keyboard function on this mysterious screen I am at a loss. I use a wireless keyboard with a RF dongle and has always done the trick to gain access to these commands in the past. I hadn't changed much of anything that I know of so this screen is awfully concerning.

Any help would be great because at the moment I literally can not do anything at all to even try to repair, reset or anything. Please please please give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance... Hopefully.

Not sure why, perhaps a stuck key on the keyboard?
You could try either unplugging the keyboard or try a different keyboard.

could be a hardware problem. In addition to trying a different keyboard unplug any peripherals and the disks to see if it goes into bios setup without them

looks like you havent got an igpu/apu so tricky to troubleshoot any possible graphics card issues.

I suggest you use a wired KB (and mouse)in the USB 2.0 ports which should allow you to get into recovery options. It's smart to always keep wired devices around just for cases like this. I notice that mobo even has old PS2 ports that can be used. I've actually run across a few modern devices where I had to use PS2 connections to control the system in pre-boot..
If you don't have either maybe you could borrow some long enough to troubleshoot.

If I could get the keyboard to work, is this screen something that will resolve itself or is it likely more drastic. I have seen a lot of screens over the years but this is a new one.

Turn off the pc. unplug your boot drive from your machine, and then turn it on with windows setup on a flash drive, and then plug the drive back in. You should be able to do the repair

Yeah, I had the thought. Rummaged through my parts bins but didn't have one. Looks like I'll order order one.

did you try resetting bios to deafults. If there isnt a button/jumper on the mobo take out the cmos battery for a couple of minutes. Be surprised if that does it but worth a try as it is easy to do and costs nothing.

Your Asrock AB350 Pro4 motherboard / clear CMOS, which resets the BIOS to factory settings.

Clear CMOS Jumper (CLRCMOS1)

CLRMOS1 allows you to clear the data in CMOS. To clear and reset the system parameters to default setup, please turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the power supply. After waiting for 15 seconds, use a jumper cap to short pin2 and pin3 on CLRMOS1 for 5 seconds. However, please do not clear the CMOS right after you update the BIOS. If you need to clear the CMOS when you just finish updating the BIOS, you must boot up the system first, and then shut it down before you do the clear-CMOS action. Please be noted that the password, date, time, and user default profile will be cleared only if the CMOS battery is removed.

I would do as follows:

1. Disconnect the system power cable

2. Remove the CMOS Battery

3. Press the power button to drain residual energy

4. Short the 2 points on the CLRMOS pins with the jumper which should be on the board already (blue)

Move the jumper across by 1 pin (from the left two pins to the right 2 pins) and leave there for a min of 5 seconds.

After which, move the jumper 1 pin to the left again so it is back on the left 2 pins.

5. Replace the battery, replace the system power and power on

6. Enter the BIOS and reset to defaults or setup as you desire.

I got one and plugged it in on every usb and still Nothing. The caps lock /numlocl buttons don't even light up so I guess they aren't getting power. Just to make sure I plugged it into my laptop and it came right on.

I had that thought but was wanting to exhaust all other options first because the cmos is directly behind my GPU and didn't want to take it out but it is looking like I will have to try.

Don’t quote me on this but I am pretty sure that during the installation of Windows, you’re asked if you want to add or allow certain features, I believe Voice/speech related features are some of the options. I also believe I toggle/disable it or say no.
I have never seen the speech nag in Windows, ever.

So I pulled the GPU andnran through the steps.

So I pulled the GPU to get to the cmos and the ran through the procedure. After doing so my I was able to use the keyboard during the boot process. However, I am still getting the same screen only now I am able to hit submit and it brings up another screen asking me to select the OS and the only option is Windows 11. After that, it boots and seemingly works properly. I went into UEFI and looked things over and got the settings correct and the correct boot order is selected. However, when I restart the PC it still brings up the same messages and then boots just fine. So while I can get it to work these strange Boot screens still occur. So, obviously there is still something happening but not sure what exactly the issue is. My only other thought wasnthat perhaps it is a problem with the Insider build but when remove the last updates, it is still there.

Thank you to each of you for the support. I feel kinda dumb that I didn't do the CMOS before bothering you guys. I should have known. I built the damn thing from scratch so it isn't like pulling the gpu to get to the CMOS is an intense undertaking. Anyway, I still have the boot screens popping up so there's clearly still something going on but I can boot up and use the PC so I breathe again and not be freaking out about all the worst case scenerios I had constantly running through my mind for the last 2 days.

It’s understandable that you would want to see if there was an alternative. Unless removed safely, touching components in a PC is something that should be dealt with carefully. One should avoid having to do so if one can.

I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself.

I'm not sure if it will work but If you have Macrium Reflect you can try fixing your boot problem from the rescue disk. If you do decide to try it I would make an image of your system first. Fix Boot Problems
