Problem: files/folders saved locally within OneDrive on C-drive can -not- be copied to another location.
It seems impossible to simply copy files, that are saved in local OneDrive folder to another location.
1) After saved to C-drive ("Always keep on this device")
tried to unlink the folder: was rejected , change could not be saved
then..
2) Unlinked PC
3) Quited OneDrive
4) renamed the OneDriveLauncher (.exe)
5) disabled OneDrive in startup (Task Scheduler)
(of course rebooted)
- disconnected from Internet
Always some 'cloud file provider'-error, like
"The cloud file provider is not running. (362)"
or
"The operation is not supported by the cloud sync provider. (379)"
Even worse . . . after steps 2-5 above, I mounted a C-Drive diskimage as a virtual drive.
browsed to the OneDrive folder, within this virtual drive
tried to copy some files from this folder within OneDrive
Was rejected!
Error: "The cloud operation is not supported on a read-only volume. (381)"
I was able to rename the OneDrive folder to OneDriveOLD
OneDrive created a new one and started to copy all the files that were in the old folder.
(100GB).
It will store the 100GB on my other PC and laptop as well.
Have been busy for the entire day now.
Trying to copy the files and folder in 'safe mode' - but it results in empty folders only
A search on Internet showed that this is a more general problem.
Question: has anybody out there ever been able to solve this issue?
Thanks!
