I have heard it pronounce Glow Ces Ter (ow as in ow that hurts) Ces (soft c). Ter as it looks.

The correct is simply Gloster as in nursery rhyme

Doctor Foster went to Gloucester,
In a shower of rain;
He stepped in a puddle,
Right up to his middle,
And never went there again.

Clue: Well, Lieutenant is pronounced Left-Tenant. How is this a clue? Last part is not Left.

In my neck of the woods (Virginia) I've heard Gloucester pronounced as Glouse (like house)-ster.

I was really asking how it's pronounced in Massachusetts.

We Brits sometimes mispronounce Arkansas, Des Moine, Michigan and Tucson.

I'd just like to point out that American English is much closer to the way it was spoken in England two hundred years ago than modern British English. A typical example is 'military'. We say mil-a-tree. You say mil-a-tare-ree.

There are distinctive dialects in every country. When in my 2 years at the Naval Air Station South of Providence, RI, the town of Worchester to the North was called Wooster. In the west there's cities with different sounds from the name, Pierre, SD, is pronounced as Pier, Belle Fourche is Bell Foush, Glasgow, MT, is either Glass-go or Glas-gow as in cow.

Actually, it is pronounced to rhyme with truly.

It's from the french as a number of locations in the south of England.

The name Beaulieu comes etymologically from French beau lieu, which means "beautiful place". It is derived from Beaulieu Abbey which was populated by 30 monks sent from the abbey of Cîteaux in France, the mother house of the Cistercian order.

My cousin had a house in Gloucester, MA (a short walk to a very nice beach!). The natives call it something in between Gloster and Glouster. Glauster? Not quite.

Worcestershire is pronounced wuste (but people can just call it Lea & Perrins...).

So..., are there any posts praising the far superiority of the Windows 11 Operating System???

I feel I've read hundreds and hundreds of posts over dozens of months about why you can't do this, or, what happened to that..., or, why did they depreciate this feature..., can I use a 3rd party utility to do that...........

I'm curious about the other end of the spectrum!

I’m pretty happy with it mate. Maybe because I don’t really care that much for changing anything/tweaks/bloatware.
My main PC boots faster, it seems to run better. It also fixed my old Dell laptop which now runs at least 50% better than it was running with using Win 10, I am not exaggerating.
The learning curb is a little more frustrating than I thought it would be, meaning I have to go through a lot of tutorials by Brink to catch up on the differences.

If nothing else, it has brought me back to these forums, it’s great to catch up with you again (and reading others whom seem to have forgotten my irrelevant self) I’ve spoken to a couple of people whom are nice. @glasskuter for instance. I’m taking it slowly, I’m ensuring I have at least 2 hours a day to get into GTAV and let out my frustrations (lol) in between the learning.

Is that where I say, I love it!?
Or "Windows 11 is the greatest thing since sliced bread".
Or, "if you can't figure out Windows 11, you're a Looser!"

what I really meant, for example...

Earlier today someone posted "How can I get the Start Menu to look like this"...
then everybody suggests an alternative Start Menu or, Explorer Patcher or, StartAllBack or, some reg tweaks, on and on and on......

I want somebody to jump in there and say: "Hey, let me show the far superiority of the native Windows 11 Start Menu along with all it's wonderful attributes!!!"

I'm quite OK with Windows 11. I don't like the way the Start Menu is set up, but I can put my icons on the taskbar, so that works.

I don't care all that much for using third party apps in order to make Windows 11 look like Windows 10 or some other version.

I'm running Windows 11 straight out the box - no tweaks or hacks to act and look like something else.

Been that way with every OS used - straight out the box without hacks and tweaks. And no, the Start menu doesn't bother me.

I like the start menu. Pinning useful apps, no longer getting 'recommended', 'recently added apps', 'show the most used apps' etc and it no longer removes the 'run' history list with the settings off.
