We can always delete the tweak if needed but all it does make Windows 11 use Windows server storage driver.

If you want to undo the Registry changes, run this command, and restart the computer:

Code:
 reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides" /v 735209102 /f && reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides" /v 1853569164 /f && reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides" /v 156965516 /f

i cant update the native NVMe driver because of VeraCrypt
VeraCrypt is blocking the native NVMe update and i am not willing to uninstall VeraCrypt
so i will have to live without native NVMe driver updates.

thanks to @garlin for the link to NVMe driver patcher which found the reason why i couldn't update
and to @FreeBooter for posting the update itself.
best of luck Steve ..

Like i said to complicated to flow i enable the tweak on two computer without problems but having image backup is recommended just in case.
I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to follow. If it's "too complicated to follow", could it be you don't understand the full scope of the issue? Maybe this guy has spent a lot more time and effort in creating a complete solution and has worked out a lot of the possible issues? The documentation sure looks like a lot of thought and testing went into creating the tool.

Clearly, having a complete backup before doing something like this is a great idea, I'll certainly give you that point! :-)

Anyone that wants to attempt this I would use the tool @garlin linked to.

I would also look at the Known Compatibility Issues before attempting this to see if your system or any software you have would be affected.

One thing to note, if you get into serious issues and the system doesn't boot (from driver problems), you cannot use ViveTool from WinPE or RE.

ViveTool only applies changes to the currently booted environment. If you're in WinPE or RE, that's not your Windows. To disable the FeatureID's, you would have to mount the offline reg hive, remove the feature override settings, and commit the hive back to disk. Not a terribly difficult task if someone gave you the instructions.

Most users don't see any harm in flipping on the two ID's. But you can avoid having to restore Windows if you know about the offline reg fix. And the linked project does go into those types of details.

The Vivetool creates “Storage disks” branch, and that your drive appears on the list it does not cause any boot time changes to NVMe SSD storage controller driver its registry editing that makes the changes for driver used by Windows 11.

I bet he does not know that registry can be modified from WinRE also you guys become experts all of a sudden before me only Brink have a thread for it now instead of good job with introduction to this tweak all i get so-called experts.

just to add
i had native NVMe enabled after a clean install on my system
its a tweak i have used since it became available

but what i didn't know, until now, was VeraCrypt disabled and/or removed native NVMe from my system as VeraCrypt takes over the boot manager and i didn't notice until i realised and tried to re-enable the native NVMe driver again and found the reason why.

the funny thing is i didn't notice any difference to my system with it either enabled or as now disabled
which did make me smile

but thanks again for posting the native NVMe driver tweak
best of luck Steve ..

just to add
i had native NVMe enabled after a clean install on my system
its a tweak i have used since it became available

but what i didn't know, until now, was VeraCrypt disabled and/or removed native NVMe from my system as VeraCrypt takes over the boot manager and i didn't notice until i realised and tried to re-enable the native NVMe driver again and found the reason why.

the funny thing is i didn't notice any difference to my system with it either enabled or as now disabled
which did make me smile

but thanks again for posting the native NVMe driver tweak
best of luck Steve ..
You are very welcome!

I have tested the tweak and if you watch my video you can see that there is a big write/read speed boost i don't know much about VeraCrypt so it's best to leave the tweak alone, but tweak tells Windows 11 to use different storage controller driver that used with Windows Server 2025.
