Unable to Install 22H2, Error 0x80246019

Windows 11 Version 25H2
Hi again guys. Finally, today the 22H2 update showed up ready to install. I clicked "Download and Install", but it keeps throwing an error message at me. Error code 0x80246019. I tried download again, keep getting same message. Is there a fix for this? Thoughts and help greatly appreciated :)

I can't give you a specific fix except to suggest Google 0x80246019 . It gives a few possible solutions. Did you allow windows installer to do updates during the install? Are you connected to the internet? These are the sort of vague possibilities.

I am connected to internet, but it won't download 22h2 at all. Keeps giving me that error message when tried to download through Windows Update on W11...

Do you mean 23h2? Please open command prompt as administrator and type winver
What version and build number shows there?

  • System 3 is non compliant Dell 9020 i7-4770/24gb ram Win11 PRO 26200.9445
Usually an update fails if it is already installed (but remained on the list for some reason) or a newer update makes it obsolete (like trying to install an older version of a component). You can clear Windows Update cache to force Windows Update check again and it should not be on the list. One way to do that is to open This PC, click on Windows drive (C: ) and then select Disk Cleanup from the Tools. Click to also cleanup advanced options and make sure you check the box for the update data.

If you have 23h2 installed you don't need the update for widows 22h2

Like I said, this obsolete update cannot be installed and remained in the list for some reason, probably a bug. This usually happens if you upgrade Windows before Windows Update has installed all updates. Some remaining updates are obsolete because of the new version. Delete the Windows Update data and search again for updates. It should not appear in the list again.
