Unresponsive Icons

I am frequently losing ‘word’ and ‘adobe’, neither the desktop icon or the program will respond. System restore brings everything back, days later they disappear again! Sys restore and they are back, for a while, I am at a loss, why, I am not aware of doing anything?

Select the Start Menu>scroll down to Word>right click on Word and select Pin to Start. This will put it into the Start Menu.

Another way is to right click on Word>hover over More>from the pop out menu, choose Pin to Taskbar.
